4 best player prop bets for Lions vs. Bucs, Week 2
Week 2 NFL picks: National writers lean toward Commanders over Giants
Jayden Daniels | Photo by Julio Aguilar/Getty Images Let’s look at Week 2 picks around the Internet How are national analysts picking the New York Giants Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders? We already know the Big Blue View staff has faith in the Giants. The Giants are 1.5-point underdogs, per FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s look at some of the picks around the Internet. At SB Nation, four of five analysts are picking the Commanders. Believe it or not, only Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation is taking the Giants. At ESPN, eight of 11 analysts are picking the Commanders. At NFL.com, four of five analysts are taking Washington. Gennaro Filice took the Giants. Why Gennaro picked the Giants: Jayden Daniels was the most impressive rookie quarterback in Week 1, but it wasn’t exactly a passing clinic. Daniels’ most potent production in the 37-20 loss at Tampa Bay came via his legs, with the No. 2 overall pick basically looking to tuck and run whenever the opportunity presented itself. That approach didn’t thrill Dan Quinn, who made it abundantly clear on Monday that most of Daniels’ 16 carries (which resulted in 88 yards and two touchdowns) were NOT designed runs: “We’d love to see him remain a passer first,” the coach said. This coming Sunday, though, Daniels could be forced to run — for his life. Washington’s suspect O-line held up surprisingly well against the Buccaneers, but the Giants present a much stiffer challenge up front. It begins in the middle with Dexter Lawrence, the gargantuan game-wrecker who provides unique pass-rushing ability from the nose. On the edges, Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux were quiet in Week 1, so the hyped tandem should be champing at the bit to make an impact. Please protect yourself, Jayden. Meanwhile, Daniels’ quarterbacking counterpart in this contest, Daniel Jones, is fresh off a terrible, tabloid-titillating performance. But is there a better get-right opportunity than facing this porous Commanders defense? At CBS, Pete Prisco is taking the Giants. He wrote: These two are both coming off losses, bad ones too. The Giants looked to be the worst of the two teams, and now they are out on the road. The Commanders will get some big plays from Jayden Daniels, but the Giants will regroup here to win it. At Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio is taking the Commanders and Chris Simms is picking the Giants. At USA Today, five of six analysts are picking Washington. At Bleacher Report, five of eight analysts are picking Washington. The Sporting News is picking the Commanders. We tried the Giants in an upset against the Vikings last week, and that backfired. Both teams have offensive issues, but Jayden Daniels offers that threat to run. He had 88 rushing yards and a TD in Week 1. The Giants did not have a running game behind Daniel Jones, who had 42 pass attempts and two interceptions in Week 1. He will have more success against the Commanders’ secondary. The Giants have won five of the past six meetings in Washington, but we’re going to go for the home team in a nail-biter. At Sports Illustrated, five of six analysts are picking the Commanders.
Sunday Dawg Chow (9/15): QB fatigue, stadium talk, keys to victory and more!
Photo by Ric Tapia/Getty Images The latest Cleveland Browns news and notes from around the NFL in the Sunday Dawg Chow. The Cleveland Browns are back at it today as they travel to Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Surprisingly for a franchise that has struggled since returning to the NFL in 1999, Jacksonville has been welcoming to the Browns. Cleveland has won four of their last six road games against the Jaguars, including the most recent visit in 2020. This is a new season and a new team, of course, one where the defense lost itself on the road last season and the offense continues to find any sort of rhythm with quarterback Deshaun Watson running the show. The season won’t be lost with a defeat today, although starting 0-2 is not a path to the playoffs, so the Browns need to come out ready to play this afternoon. To help everyone get ready for another Sunday of Browns football, Dawgs By Nature has the latest news and notes about the Browns and the rest of the NFL in today’s edition of the Sunday Dawg Chow. Dawgs By Nature: How bad was Deshaun Watson in Week 1? (Thomas Moore) – Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson had a day to forget in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. Browns vs. Jaguars: 3 things will decide if Cleveland wins in Week 2 (Curtiss Brown) – The Cleveland Browns need their offense, especially quarterback Deshaun Watson, to get fixed and quick. Browns-Jaguars FanDuel Week 2 prop bets: Bet on Jerome Ford, and the defense getting a pick (Chris Pokorny) – The Cleveland Browns are on the road today against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season. The Browns are 3-point underdogs against the Jaguars, and here are my favorite player prop bets from the Browns’ perspective for the game. Browns make roster moves ahead of Week 2 game against Jaguars (Thomas Moore) – The Cleveland Browns made a series of roster moves on Saturday in preparation for their Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The club signed wide receiver James Proche II and linebacker Winston Reid to the active roster from the practice squad. They also elevated offensive tackle Germain Ifedi and tight end Blake Whiteheart from the practice squad to the active roster. Cleveland Browns: About Deshaun Watson’s contract, about Watson the QB & Watson fatigue (Terry Pluto) – “I just want this to go away.” I’ve been hearing this over and over from many Browns fans when it comes to Deshaun Watson. New or renovated Browns stadium won’t yield economic benefits for Cleveland, experts say (cleveland.com) – More jobs, more tax revenue, more spending at local businesses — all totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in economic benefits for the Cleveland area. These are the grand, alluring promises that team officials and politicians are expected to peddle when and if the city of Cleveland and the Cleveland Browns strike a publicly subsidized lease-extension deal to renovate the lakefront stadium. But it’s all bunk, say economists who study public stadium financing. Road work ahead: Defense out to reverse 2023 struggles away from home (Browns Zone) – The discrepancy in the Cleveland Browns defense’s performance at home vs. on the road last year was such a popular topic of discussion, safety Grant Delpit had a joke ready before the first road trip of this season. Cleveland Browns consultant Mike Vrabel relishes Walsh Jesuit jersey retirement (Beacon Journal) – NFL great Mike Vrabel attended a pregame party at Walsh Jesuit High School on Friday night, mingled with students in the stands, participated in the coin toss and gave a speech in the Warriors locker room just before kickoff. During a ceremony at the end of the first quarter in Walsh’s 42-7 win over St. Ignatius, the Warriors retired the jersey number Vrabel wore as a high school football star. He became the first athlete in Walsh history to receive the honor. NFL: Niners placing Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve (NFL.com) – The San Francisco 49ers emerged from Week 1 victorious in star running back Christian McCaffrey’s absence. They’ll attempt to keep doing the same without him now for at least the next four weeks. How Jim Harbaugh’s coaching path began with 1-15 Panthers (ESPN) – It was the day after the Carolina Panthers suffered their 15th straight loss to end a 1-15 season in 2001. Jim Harbaugh didn’t tell his parents he was calling it quits as a player that day. But he knew after 15 seasons and consecutive 1-15 records with the then-San Diego Chargers and Panthers it was time to follow in the footsteps of his father and older brother, John. It was time to coach. The definitive guide to the NFL’s new dynamic kickoff (The Ringer) – I watched all 172 kickoffs from Week 1 so you don’t have to. But before we get into the nine takeaways and trends I picked up from this deep dive into the dynamic kickoff, let’s recap what exactly is happening here, and why the NFL made this change.

Hill went over his rushing yards prop in 75.0% of his opportunities (six of eight games) last year. He scored a rushing touchdown in two games last year, including multiple rushing TDs in one of those games. Ravens vs. Raiders stats and trends The Raiders had the NFL’s 12th-ranked pass defense last season, yielding 212.4 yards per game through the air. 4 Bengals vs. Chiefs Prop Bets for NFL Week 2 at FanDuel Sportsbook
Sam Greene/The Enquirer / USA TODAY NETWORK The Bengals look to bounce-back in a tough game against the Chiefs, but regardless of the result, there may some lucrative ways to make your weekend fruitful via FanDuel. The season started off unfavorably for the Cincinnati Bengals, as they dropped their 2024 home and season-opener to the New England Patriots. A number of self-inflicted mistakes led to them losing a winnable game, and they are now forced to rebound quickly against the vaunted Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes and Co. are at home once again and off of a mini-bye after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL-opening Thursday night affair. Though Kansas City and Cincinnati aren’t divisional foes, their recent history has built a rivalry akin to the hatred seen within the AFC North. Regardless of the end result, there are some ways to make some money through sports betting and FanDuel Sportsbook, which currently has the Bengals as 5.5-point underdogs. Here are some intriguing options to eye this week. Ja’Marr Chase two or more touchdowns (+1200) This is a swing-for-the-fences bet, but call it a hunch. Chase has had choice words once again for the Chiefs and has the attitude of a player with an edge this week. He also had food poisoning prior to the game last week, so he should be all good to go this Sunday afternoon. In five games against the Chiefs (two in the postseason), Chase has garnered 33 catches for 533 yards and four touchdowns. He’s achieved this prop bet once as a rookie against Kansas City, grabbing three touchdowns at a regular season win at Paycor (then Paul Brown Stadium). End Score— Bengals 26, Chiefs 24 (+20,000) or Chiefs 26, Bengals 23 (+12,000) With the exception of last year’s end-of-year clash with Jake Browning under center, the four previous contests with Joe Burrow at the helm all ended with a three-point point differential. To boot, all of those four ranged from the mid-20s to the low-30s in points scored by each team, regardless of the venue. Again, this is a risky bet, but it could pay off in a big way. For instance, if you were to bet the Bengals winning 26-24, a simple $5 bet would net you $1,000. Joe Burrow 250+ Passing Yards (+118) This one is a bit safer than the other two. It’s rare that Burrow has poor back-to-back games, and while he made some questionable reads in Week 1, he had touchdown passes in the bag for Mike Gesicki (drop) and Tanner Hudson (fumble). Those plays being converted would have had a bigger impact on his stat line and, potentially, in the win-loss column. Tee Higgins may not play again, but a determined Chase, an additional week of work to work out kinks, and improved offensive line play shown last week should help Burrow eclipse this mark. Zach Moss First Touchdown Scorer (+750) The Bengals may lean on the run a tiny bit more in this one, taking notes for what was working later in the game against the Patriots. Moss scored in that one, and it’s very possible the Bengals take a methodical opening drive and cap it with a short-yardage Moss touchdown.

49ers at Vikings: How to Watch, TV Schedule, Radio Broadcast, Odds and More
Photo by Mitchell Leff/Getty Images Let’s get you set up for today’s game! Welcome to game day, folks! We’re just a few hours away from kickoff as your Minnesota Vikings will play their 2024 home opener today at U.S. Bank Stadium against the reigning and defending NFC champs, the San Francisco 49ers. Let’s get you set up with everything you need to watch today’s game. Television Info This game will kick off at the agreed-upon best time for NFL action to get underway, that being noon Central time on Sunday. This week’s game will be broadcast by CBS, which is WCCO-4 in the Twin Cities, with the play-by-play being handled by the great Kevin Harlan alongside Trent Green. Below is the broadcast map from the good folks at 506 Sports, with the blue area representing where the 49ers/Vikings game will be the local broadcast. If your local affiliate isn’t airing the game, you can find it on YouTube TV Sunday Ticket. For our men and women in uniform serving overseas, the American Forces Network will be airing this one LIVE on AFN Sports. Kickoff is slated for 1700Z, which equates to 1900L for everyone in Central Europe, 2000L for those on Arabian Time, and 0200L on Monday morning for fans in Japan and Korea. Radio Info If you have a Vikings Radio Network affiliate in your area, most of them will probably be carrying the game. We’ve provided you with the full list of affiliates for this season, so use our page to find the affiliate nearest to you. For those of you who are going to use satellite radio to listen to this one, you can find the feed from the Vikings Radio Network on SiriusXM Channel 231. You can listen to the Giants’ feed on Channel 386 if you feel compelled to do so for whatever reason. If you’re using the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is on Channel 820. Referee Info According to the folks from Football Zebras, the officiating crew for this week’s game will be headed up by Brad Allen. The Vikings last saw Allen in October of last year, as his crew handled the Vikings’ 19-13 victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Weather Info This game won’t be affected by the elements or anything, given that it will take place inside the beautiful confines of U.S. Bank Stadium, but if you’ll be partaking in any action beforehand it should be a great day for it according to our friends from WeatherNation. There will be some patchy fog in the morning, but it will burn off to give us a temperature of right around 80 degrees under partly cloudy skies by the time things kick off. Betting Info According to the folks from FanDuel, the Vikings continue to be a 5.5-point underdog heading into this one. The over/under for today’s game is set at 46.5 points. Streaming Info If your local affiliate is not carrying the game, remember that the Sunday Ticket package now rests with YouTube TV. If you’re in the local area and have cut the cord, you should be able to find it on a service such as Fubo TV or Sling TV. I’ll say the same thing about illegal streams that I always say: don’t. Or damn sure don’t go advertising them here. You’ll be banned and that will be the end of it. Post-Game Info Due to other commitments, there will not be a live post-game show from Vikings Report this week. We will be back with a post-game show after next week’s game. That should be everything you need in order to follow along with all of the action of today’s regular season home opener between your Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers. As always, we’ll have Open Threads for each quarter, with the first one dropping approximately half an hour before kickoff.
