With just a few minutes left in the third quarter on Sunday against the Rams, Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts took a huge hit that bent him backward and immediately had him grabbing his left knee in serious pain. Jalen Hurts was injured after getting rolled up on this play. He’s headed to the medical tent.pic.twitter.com/UkJaA9ghV6 — Pro Football Network (@PFN365) January 19, 2025 Hurts ended up finishing the drive, but then went into the blue medical tent after leaving the field. Hurts was sacked five times through three quarters, and was already in pain even before halftime. He’s a guy that will play through whatever he can, and did return to the game with a knee brace after being checked out — and then immediately took another sack for a safety. Kenny Pickett is back as QB2 after being able to recover a bit from his broken ribs, and Tanner McKee is the inactive emergency quarterback if needed. Hopefully Hurts can stay clear of any other issues in the fourth quarter, and his knee injury isn’t actually something serious.

Quinyon Mitchell injury: Eagles rookie CB ruled OUT against Rams
Photo by Mitchell Leff/Getty Images The Eagles’ rookie cornerback was sidelined during the Rams’ first offensive drive of the NFC Divisional Round matchup. The Eagles’ defense had a few nice plays during the Rams’ first offensive drive in Sunday’s playoff game, but Los Angeles ultimately got into the endzone to take the lead, 7-6. During the drive, rookie CB Quinyon Mitchell left the game after tackling Matthew Stafford. Just as the broadcast was boasting the number of defensive snaps Mitchell played as a rookie, he ended up leaving the field to be checked out and eventually ended up in the blue medical tent. He was ruled questionable to return after suffering a shoulder injury and soon after made his way into the locker room. It wasn’t long after halftime that the team announced Mitchell would not return, and had been ruled out. Injury Update: CB Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder) has been downgraded to out. https://t.co/JDGrIggbQy — Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) January 19, 2025 With Mitchell on the sideline, Isaiah Rodgers took his place. Rodgers has filled in for Darius Slay quite a bit throughout the season, so he has a rapport with the defensive backs and can hopefully rise to the occasion. Hopefully Mitchell’s injury isn’t something that will be an issue for the rookie long term.
Rams-Eagles: Divisional Round game thread
Bill Streicher-Imagn Images The Los Angeles Rams travel to Philadelphia for the NFL Divisional Round The Los Angeles Rams are traveling across the county to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Divisional on Sunday. This game is the biggest game of the year for both teams and you aren’t going to want to miss this as each team is also hoping to play an even bigger game next week. Only one team can win on Sunday. The Eagles have been phenomenal this year. They can win close games. They can run away with games with the power of Saquan Barkley. They have both the defensive line and offensive line to win the Super Bowl. This is going to be the toughest test yet for L.A. Despite as good as Philly is, the Rams aren’t dead in the water. They’ve won a Super Bowl only a few years ago, and they still have key players from that squad in Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Darius Williams and more. L.A. may be underdogs, but upsets happen in the NFL, so do not count them out just yet. Whether you are a fan of the Rams or a Philly fan, enjoy today’s game as it will be the last game of the season for one of these squads. The winner of this game will host the Washington Commanders next week after they stunned the Detroit Lions on Saturday night.
Ravens AFC Divisional Round preview: Where the Bills are most vulnerable?
Ravens AFC Divisional Round preview: Where the Bills are most vulnerable? glenn erby Kickoff is fast approaching, and we’re just hours from the Ravens and Bills matching up in frigid temperatures, with the winner advancing to the AFC Championship game. The Bills are 16-5 at home all-time in the postseason, while John Harbaugh has eight road playoff wins – the most in NFL history. The time has come, and we’re looking at where Buffalo could be most vulnerable. Mandatory Credit: Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images The run sets up the pass in Buffalo, but Baltimore doesn’t fall for the run fakes, and they’ll make life miserable for the Bills. According to PFF, Josh Allen ranked seventh among qualifiers with a 91.9 PFF overall grade on action, and his 89.6 PFF rushing grade is the second-best mark among quarterbacks. Overall, the Bills rank seventh in EPA per play and fourth in success rate on play action. On Sunday, something has to give. Since Week 10, Baltimore is second in success rate and EPA per play against play action, having given up the fewest yards per play (5.7) on fake handoffs. During the Ravens Week 4 win, Allen completed 3-of-6 passes for nine yards, zero big-time throws, and two turnover-worthy plays. If Buffalo can’t control the clock, they’ll get run out of their own building. Henry has averaged 158.3 yards rushing in his last four games, and the Ravens are 10-0 when he gets at least 100. Mandatory Credit: Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images Allen has the most rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL postseason history (609), and Lamar Jackson ranks second (602). Still, running against the Ravens’ defense could be difficult, as they have given up 239 rushing yards to quarterbacks this season (fifth fewest). Lamar Jackson BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – JANUARY 11: Lamar Jackson #8 of the Baltimore Ravens hands the ball off to Derrick Henry #22 during the first quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the AFC Wild Card Playoff at M&T Bank Stadium on January 11, 2025 in Baltimore, Maryland. The Bills have given up 0.45 EPA per quarterback, which is designed to run or scramble, which is higher than the league average.
NFL Divisional Playoffs Sunday Doubleheader Discussion
Photo by Michael Owens/Getty Images Finalizing the Conference Championship Games We are just about ready to kick off the second half of the 2024 NFL Divisional Playoffs, and by the time today finishes we will have the Conference Championship Games completely set up. The first game of the day will put the spotlight on the NFC, as the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams. This one has gotten some added significance, because the winner will now be hosting the NFC Championship Game this weekend with Detroit’s loss on Saturday night. Whoever wins this one will face the Washington Commanders next weekend. This game is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 PM Central time, and it will be broadcast on NBC affiliates around the country as well as streaming on Peacock. Then, we’ll get to the main event of the weekend, the big one that everyone has been waiting for. It will be a battle between the two leading candidates for this year’s Most Valuable Player award, as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The winner of this one gets the right to travel to Kansas City for the AFC Championship Game. This game will kick off at 5:30 PM Central time, and it will be aired on CBS with streaming on Paramount+. Both of these games are rematches of regular season contests, and both of them were rather one-sided. The Rams hosted the Eagles at SoFi Stadium back in Week 12, with the Eagles emerging with a 37-20 victory. That game also featured Saquon Barkley rushing for 255 yards and two touchdowns in the rout. The Bills and Ravens played much earlier in the season, with the two teams getting together in Baltimore way back in Week 4. In that one, Derrick Henry had a big game of his own, rushing for 199 yards and a touchdown, and tossed in a receiving touchdown for good measure in a 35-10 Baltimore win. Here’s how we’re picking this one, courtesy of the good folks from Tallysight. As always, we remind you that everyone might be working with different odds based on when they made their picks. Photo by Michael Owens/Getty Images The Divisional round of the playoffs is here and Sunday has two games to watch: LA Rams at Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills. Come chat with us in our live thread! The Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs wraps up on Sunday, with two games that look like they will be highly competitive. Things start out with the NFC No. 4 Los Angeles Rams at No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles at 3 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by AFC No. 3 Baltimore Ravens at No. 2 Buffalo Bills at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS. In order to advance to this game, the Rams had to beat the Vikings, while the Eagles took down the Packers. This will mark the fourth time these two teams have met in the post-season, including games in 1949, 1989, and 2001. The winner of this game will host the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game. If the Eagles advance, it’ll be the second time in the past three seasons that they’ve reached the NFCC, while it would be the third time in the previous eight seasons if the Rams are victorious. Ravens at Bills Date: Sunday, January 19, 2025Time: 6:30 p.m. ETLocation: Highmark Stadium in Erie County, New YorkTV: CBSAnnouncers: Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, with field reporters Tracy Wolfson, Jay FeelyStreaming: Paramount+, NFL Sunday Ticket via YouTube, NFL+ Premium,Betting line via FanDuel Sportsbook: Ravens -1.5 points In order to advance to this game, the Ravens beat their division rival Steelers, while the Bills took care of business against the Broncos. As consistently strong as these two teams have been in recent history, they’ve only met in the post-season one time—a 17-3 Bills victory. They did meet in the 2024 regular season in Week 4, a game the Ravens dominated at home, on their way to a 35-10 win—which is likely why they’re favored. The winner of this game will take on the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. If the Ravens advance, it’ll set up a rematch of last year’s AFCC (the Chiefs won 17-10), and if the Bills win, it’ll be a rematch of the 2020 AFCC (the Chiefs won 38-24). The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2025 NFL playoffs Divisional Round game against the Los Angeles Rams. The following Eagles players WILL NOT PLAY: Tanner McKee, Nick Gates, Darian Kinnard, Trevor Keegan, Ainias Smith, Eli Ricks, and Lewis Cine. These are the same inactives the Eagles had for last weekend’s Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers. Gates, Kinnard, Keegan, Smith, Ricks, and Cine are all healthy scratches. Nicholas Morrow and Khari Blasingame are active after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad.
