Week 10 best prop bets for Giants-Panthers

Wagers to consider as you fill out your tickets

Welcome to the New York Giants betting angle, Week 10 edition! Each week, I’m giving you my three favorite wagers for that week’s New York Giants game. My one rule: I won’t ever give you wagers that are less than -120. No layups.

This week, the Giants head to Munich, where they’ll face the Carolina Panthers. The Giants are technically the road team. Germany, we’re sorry. Two years ago we sent you Tom Brady in his final season, and last year you got to see Patrick Mahomes. This year? Whoops. Carolina and New York both come in at 2-7. The Giants have lost four straight and have scored the second fewest points in the NFL. Carolina has allowed a league-worst 293 points in nine games and has by far the worst point differential in the league (-146). Last year, these teams combined to win just eight games. It’s not surprising that before this matchup, neither of these teams has been favored in a game this season. It’s worse than that. The Giants are favored this week (the line is NYG -6.5, with a game total of 40.5) and it’s the first time they’ve been a favorite in their last 25 games. The Panthers haven’t been favored in 28 straight games and counting. Ay, Caramba.

The Giants fell behind by two touchdowns in the first half at home last week against the Commanders, but showed some grit in making it a game with three second half scoring drives. Their comeback fell short and they lost 27-22. Bryce Young and the Panthers got their second win of the season last week while handing the Saints their seventh straight loss. So both teams have a modicum of momentum coming in, such as it is. Both are also trying to figure out if their long-term starting quarterback is on their current roster. With the Giants on Bye in Week 11, it’s possible that this could be Daniel Jones’s last game in his final audition to be the answer at QB.

I broke my winning streak last week, going 1-2. I struggled to find three bets I liked. This week, I had no problem finding attractive bets.

The line for this game opened at Giants -5.5 and has moved a point. And that has officially moved me off the Giants laying the points. As bad as Carolina is, the Giants shouldn’t be favored by almost a TD to anyone. The spread and game total are stay-aways for me.

As they say in Germany, lass uns gehen! (Let’s go!). All lines and odds are from FanDuel as of Friday morning, Nov. 8.

Those are the picks for Week zehn (10). Good luck with your wagers!

Tyrone Tracy, Jr.’s breakout has been a bright spot for Big Blue

1. Tyrone Tracy, Jr. OVER 74.5 rushing yards (-114). It’s a high total, but I’ll take it. Tracy has taken over the lead-back duties and is getting the vast majority of carries. He’s had at least 16 carries in four of the last five games and should go over that total again this week. I played the over on his rushing total last week (59.5) and it hit, even with a negative game script in the second half as the Giants tried to stage a comeback from 14 points down. This week, not only don’t I expect that kind of game, but the matchup is cake. The Panthers are dead last in the NFL in total defense and rush defense. They’ve allowed a league-worst 159 rushing yards per game. I think Tracy goes over the century mark this week and I’m not sure why his rushing total is only 15 yards higher than it was last week, given the matchup.

2. Tyrone Tracy, Jr. ANYTIME TD (-120). Let’s double down. Tracy has just two rushing TDs on the season, so this might not seem like a great bet. But he’s only been heavily involved for five weeks so he’s scoring almost every other game. The Panthers have allowed 13 rushing TDs to opposing running backs so far this year, tops in the NFL. If you want to play these first two bets as part of a parlay, I won’t argue with you.

3. Bryce Young UNDER 178.5 passing yards (-114). Young has played four complete games this season and has only gone over this total once. He’s been playing better of late, but the Panthers traded away two receivers in the last two weeks so it’s a passing offense in flux. I do think Carolina will have some success running the ball with Chuba Hubbard and rookie Jonathan Brooks (making his NFL debut), but passing is going to be more difficult against Big Blue’s pass rush and secondary. I’ll go under.

Those are the picks for Week 10. Good luck with your wagers.
