He did all he could.
Despite another incredible performance by Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals fell to the Baltimore Ravens 35-34 in what felt like a must win game.
The performance Thursday night felt very similar to the one he had in Week 5 when the offense scored 38 points but lost 41-38. Burrow carried the team as far as he could, but it wasn’t enough.
Thursday’s game marked history, but not the good kind.
There have been 2 instances in NFL history where a QB had:
30+ completions
300+ passing yards
4+ TD passes
multiple 40+ yard TD passes
no more than 1 INT…and yet still lost. Those 2 instances were Joe Burrow vs. the Ravens in Week 5 & Joe Burrow vs. the Ravens again tonight. pic.twitter.com/vfRaLghMC9

Twice. Both this season. Both against the Ravens.
You would like 30 more completions, 300 or more passing yards, four or more touchdown passes, and no more than one interception to come in a blowout victory, but unfortunately for Burrow, they both came in narrow losses.
After an impressive first half, the Bengals’ defense just couldn’t get the stops they needed, even with a 14-point lead. That, paired with a brutal fumble and failed fourth-down conversions, is what landed Burrow on the wrong side of history.
