The Rams designated Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson to return to practice
The L.A. Rams officially opened the 21-day practice window for offensive linemen Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson on Thursday, meaning that the two players could start and of the next three games. If the Rams do not put either player back on the 53-man roster in 21 days, that player(s) will be out for the rest of the season.
The Rams play the Dolphins, Patriots, and Eagles in the next three games. Given how well Philadelphia has played recently, Sean McVay probably wants to be sure that he has both players available in Week 12.

In the meantime, center Beaux Limmer has been a standout, if not one of the best centers in the NFL recently. Guards Justin Dedich and Logan Bruss did admirable jobs filling in too.
The Rams had their own issues figuring out where to put Jackson and Avila already; the Rams intended for Avila to be the starting center, but apparently weren’t impressed enough going into the season and moved Jackson to the middle and Avila back to the same position he played as a rookie at left guard.
When the two return, expect Jackson to be at center if Avila is available. But McVay might want to keep Limmer in at center as long as possible.
