Grading the Baltimore Ravens positions groups after the NFL Trade Deadline

Against a Broncos defense that had led the NFL in yards per play allowed entering Week 9, Jackson was 16-for-19 passing for 280 yards and three touchdowns. His perfect passer rating (158.3) was the fourth of his NFL career, tying Ben Roethlisberger for the most in league history. Jackson is ahead of his MVP pace this year and entering GOAT status.

Jackson is first in the NFL in a bunch of core value stats: total yards (2,884), yards per attempt (9.3), and passer rating (120.7), according to TruMedia. Jackson is first in touchdown rate (7.8%), touchdown-to-interception ratio (10:1), and first downs per pass attempt (44.7%). Jackson is first in expected points added per drop-back (0.35), EPA per pass attempt (0.40), and EPA per play (0.31).

Henry topped 1,000 rushing yards in only the Ravens’ ninth game of the season and scored a pair of touchdowns against the Broncos’ No. 3-ranked defense as the Ravens blew out the Broncos, 41-10, Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.

Henry is the Ravens’ first running back to rush for 1,000 yards since Mark Ingram II (1,018) in 2019. Before that, it was Justin Forsett in 2014. Justice Hill has been valuable as a pass catcher, snagging 28 balls for 272 yards and two touchdowns.

Since Week 5, Flowers has led the NFL in receiving yards (496) and yards after catch (232), according to NextGenStats. He already has four 100-yard receiving games this season, one short of the franchise record held by Mark Andrews. Flowers enters Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals with 654 yards for the season, trailing only Justin Jefferson (783), Ja’Marr Chase (717), Garrett Wilson (663), and CeeDee Lamb (660). Flowers has topped 100 yards in four of the last five games.

Rashod Bateman is heading towards a career year. He’s logged 25 catches for 447 yards and three touchdowns. Diontae Johnson’s arrival will make this unit even more dangerous.

This is no longer the Mark Andrews and the Ravens, which have produced a tight end by a successful committee in several categories. Mark Andrews leads the unit with 24 catches for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Isaiah Likely has returned to earth after his Week 1 breakout and has 24 catches for 271 yards and three scores.

The Ravens’ offensive line has improved weekly, and they’re only improving. Tyler Linderbaum has performed like an All-Pro. Rookie right tackle Roger Rosengarten has settled in since becoming a starter in Week 3, and Ronnie Stanley has his swagger back.

This banged up group has been solid at times, but still lacks consistency up the middle. Nnamdi Madubuike’s numbers are down after his All-Pro season in 2023.

Kyle Van Noy has been a godsend and leads this group with seven sacks, but he’s gone weeks since having multiple games with two or more sacks to start the season. Odafe Oweh has 4.5 sacks, second year pass rusher Tavius Robinson logged 2 of his 2.5 sacks in Week 9. David Ojabo and rookie Adisa Isaac have been disappointments.

This unit gets a B more because of Trenton Simpson and less because of Roquan Smith. The second-year linebacker has been impressive against the run and the pass and has logged 51 tackles, 1.5 sacks, five tackles for loss, and four passes defended. Roquan Smith is still among the league leaders in tackles with 85 stops, but he’s become a liability in pass coverage.

Baltimore has one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL, and they’ve had cornerbacks in and out of the lineup due to injuries.

The Ravens have allowed the most passing yards per game (280.9) in the league and ranks in the bottom 10 in points allowed (24.3) through nine weeks. Marlon Humphrey, Arthur Maulet and Jalyn Armour-Davis, first-round pick Nate Wiggins and fourth-round pick T.J. Tampa have all missed time during the season with various injuries.
