The Rams expect Rob Havenstein to miss the next game, but will start to bring back Jonah Jackson, Steve Avila
The Los Angeles Rams think that Rob Havenstein will miss the next game against the Dolphins because of an ankle injury, but Sean McVay also told the media on Monday that Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson will return to practice this week. The Rams have won 3 straight games and are back to .500 and in a couple of weeks McVay might have the entire starting 5 offensive line back on the field for the first time all year.
The Rams did not have left tackle Joe Noteboom for the first two games due to a suspension, then he was placed on IR, but Noteboom is a candidate to start for Havenstein at right tackle on Monday. Second-year tackle Warren McClendon is another option.
McVay noted that L.A. will open the 21-day practice window for Jackson and Avila, meaning that the Rams have 3 weeks to practice those two players prior to needing to activate them to the 53-man roster or lose them for the rest of the year. When the Rams opened Puka Nacua’s window last week, they immediately started him against the Vikings, so it’s not clear how much practice Jackson and Avila will actually need.
In the meantime, the Rams have had positive developments from backups Justin Dedich and Beaux Limmer, so McVay might not be in a rush there just yet.
