The Miami Dolphins have struggled against the Buffalo Bills the last few seasons, and against every team this season. Can they turn both of those trends around on Sunday?
The Miami Dolphins have stumbled their way to a 2-5 record through the first eight weeks of the season. Included in those five losses was a 31-10 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. Now, in desperate need of a spark to save any playoff hopes the Dolphins may have this year, Miami once again will face the Bills as the AFC East division rivals complete their annual home-and-home series.
The Dolphins offense looked better last week against the Arizona Cardinals as Pro Bowl quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned to the lineup. However, they could not run out the clock in the fourth quarter, punting the ball back to Arizona. The defense then could not make a stop, and the Cardinals kicked a last-second field goal for the win.
Against the Bills, the team has to execute much better if they want to end a five-game losing streak to their rivals. The offense will have to move from looking better to being dominant on Sunday. The defense will have to contain a mobile quarterback, slowing Bills passer Josh Allen better than their performance against Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray.
