Here are a few pre-game ‘things I think’ as we await Sunday’s New York Giants–Washington Commanders 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
This is a video version including a few topics I wanted to touch on before the game gets underway.
Here is what is included:
Placekicker situation — Rookie Jude McAtamney will be elevated to kick Sunday as Greg Joseph (oblique) was placed on IR. A former Gaelic football player who was used only on kickoffs by Rutgers last season, McAtamney is quite the curiosity. We’ll see how this goes.
Azeez Ojulari trade — I know I am beating my head against the wall with some of you, but I had to try again to explain why the Giants, even if they would like to keep the player, have an obligation to see what the return could be in a trade for Ojulari. The edge defender is a free agent, and he holds the cards. If the Giants believe he won’t return in 2025, getting something for him now makes sense.
Daniel Jones — The clock is ticking on his time as the Giants’ starter. If Sunday goes badly, will he ever start another game at MetLife Stadium for the Giants?
