Dexter Lawrence, Daniel Jones show frustration in Giants’ loss to Steelers | New York Daily News
Frustration spilled out on the Giants’ sideline Monday night, with star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence screaming at some of the Giants’ defensive backs after a Steelers second-quarter offensive drive.
After the game, Lawrence said he was urging his teammates that “we’ve got to play harder.” He said Deonte Banks “could have competed better on that TD pass (to Pickens that didn’t count). That was the only play I saw with my own eyes” that he had a problem with
Lawrence is very frustrated because “we’re a good team and we keep beating ourselves every week”
Giants must focus on future and sell at NFL trade deadline. Which players can they move? | The Athletic
Schoen resisted a full housecleaning last year despite the team’s 2-6 record at the trade deadline. He held on to running back Saquon Barkley and safety Xavier McKinney, and both players left in free agency.
Schoen was conscious that trading two of the team’s best players would send a message to the locker room that the season was over. This season, he doesn’t have such considerations because none of the team’s top players are realistic trade options.
Instead, Schoen should consider his intention to sign impending free agents like wide receiver Darius Slayton and outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari. Schoen also must have a handle on those players’ interest in returning to the Giants once they hit the market after the season. If Schoen doesn’t plan to pay the market rate for Slayton or Ojulari, or if he believes they’ll covet a fresh start from the highest bidder in free agency, he shouldn’t hesitate to make a deal to add draft assets.

10. NEW YORK GIANTS: QB Garrett Nussmeier, LSU. The Daniel Jones experience is nearing an end in New York. Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen, assuming no firings, will get their chance to pick the next guy. That could be gunslinger Garrett Nussmeier, who — as we saw in his rollercoaster of a game versus Texas A&M — can deliver big-time NFL throws but also puts the ball in harm’s way too much. Nussmeier has talent but needs to grow as a decision-maker. And that’s understandable, with this being his first year as a starter.
NY Giants: Setting a standard at 2-5 crossroads takes effort, desire | The Record
“The veterans in this locker room see what Burns is doing, Dex, a lot of other guys in here, you put it on the line because this is what we do,” Eluemunor said. “There is a responsibility to each other and to this team. Giving someone a reason to question that, it’s not what you want in this league.”
Eli was incredulous that their was no call against the Steelers

Instant Analysis: Giants fall to Steelers, 26-18 | Giants.com
Joshua Ezeudu manned the position last week, but newcomer Chris Hubbard took over on Monday night. Signed off the 49ers‘ practice squad on Oct. 18, the 6-foot-4 and 295-pound Hubbard had exactly 100 games of NFL experience entering Monday, including six in the postseason. He played his first four seasons with the Steelers (2014-2017), the next five with the Browns (2018-2022), and one with the Titans (2023). Hubbard had started 58 games, 51 of which were at right tackle.

8. Brian Daboll, New York Giants. The Giants are a bad football team, but deep down the organization knows that Brian Daboll inherited a mess that will take a while to clean up — and still the team is capable of surprises.
If the Giants get a couple more wins then this is a moot point and Daboll’s job is safe. The offensive line is in need of major work, and Daniel Jones is clearly not the right quarterback moving forward. The big thing is that if not Daboll, then who? He’s infinitely better than most coaches set to hit the market — and that means staying pat is the correct move for the Giants.

Jayden Daniels: That was a once in a lifetime experience | Pro Football Talk
“I just heard people screaming and our sideline rushing the field. That’s how I knew,” Daniels said. “That’s kind of like a once in a lifetime experience. Not too many people get to experience stuff like that.”
Inside the Commanders’ wild last-second finish vs. the Bears | ESPN.com
McLaurin: Jayden’s kind of aiming for the tip man. We’re going to have a guy in the back end line just in case it goes over. And then we got two guys in the front ready for it. … I was ready for it to be tipped forward. Noah was ready in the back. Luke [McCaffrey] was ready to the side.
That ball fell right into Noah’s arms. I don’t think I’ve seen a Hail Mary fall that perfectly off of a tip drill.

If anyone doesn’t believe in Jayden Daniels now, nothing will convince them. He pulled a win out of a sure defeat on Sunday with a final-play, 52-yard Hail Mary to Noah Brown. He also badly outplayed Caleb Williams, who was picked one spot ahead of him in the draft, completing 21 of 38 passes for 326 yards and a touchdown and running eight times for 52 yards. He’s for real, and so, apparently, are the Commanders. They’ve got all the ingredients to stay in the race.
