Baltimore (5-3) is again searching for answers after a 29-24 loss to Cleveland in Week 8 at Huntington Bank Field. The Browns (2-6) played inspired football and won victorious for the first time since a Week 2 win over the 2-6 Jacksonville Jaguars.
With preparation for the Broncos set to begin, here’s an instant analysis of the shocking loss.

Winston finished 27 of 41 for 334 yards in his first start since Sept. 25, 2022, for New Orleans. The 30-year-old took over the reins of Cleveland’s offense this week after Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture a week ago. MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 23 of 38 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s unknown if any injury occurred, but Williams was benched on Sunday, ceding snaps to Eddie Jackson and Ar’Darius Washington. Head coach John Harbaugh stated that Williams was working through some things. Williams has struggled this season, and entering Week 8, he was among the lowest-graded safeties in the NFL, allowing 16.3 yards per catch and a 143.9 passer rating allowed in coverage.

The Ravens first-year defensive coordinator will again face questions after allowing 22 passing first downs, 8-15 on third downs and 401 yards to a team that hadn’t scored 20 points this season, and had a quarterback starting his first game since 2022.
Kyle Hamilton

Hamilton had ten tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, two passes defended, and two QB hits, but he’ll remember and regret a dropped interception before Winston’s go-ahead touchdown.
