Miami’s franchise quarterback returns to action after missing the last four games.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is officially back. He was activated from injured reserve on Saturday after being sidelined since his Week 2 concussion against the Buffalo Bills.

Tagovailoa signed a four-year, $212 million extension in July. He’s thrown two touchdowns and three interceptions this season with a team-high 483 passing yards, despite missing four-plus games.

Tim Boyle, who was part of Miami’s four-player quarterback rotation and appeared in two games with 153 passing yards, was released to make room for Tagovailoa’s return. Skylar Thompson, now fully recovered from an early-season rib injury, will serve as Tagovailoa’s primary backup.

Long snapper Matt Overton and defensive tackle Neil Farrell were elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Overton steps in for the second consecutive game as Blake Ferguson remains on the reserve/non-football illness list.

Farrell will provide depth on the defensive line alongside Calais Campbell, Benito Jones, Brandon Pili, and Da’Shawn Hand as they step in for the injured Zach Sieler, who is out with a fractured orbital bone.
