Top receiver has missed past 2 games
Fear not, Jakobi Meyers didn’t suffer a setback in his return from an ankle injury that has cost him the past two games.
Friday, Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said that he expects Meyers to play Sunday when the Raiders host the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium (kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PT).
Meyers didn’t practice Thursday after practicing on a limited basis Wednesday after missing the past two weeks of practice. Friday, Pierce said Meyers was simply given a rest day along with star defensive end Maxx Crosby. Crosby is also fine to play Sunday.
Meyers became the Raiders’ No. 1 wide receiver after the trade of star Davante Adams to the New York Jets, He is officially listed as questionable to play.
Meyers has 25 catches for 273 yards and one touchdown in five games and is a solid No. 2 option behind rookie star tight end Brock Bowers.
Meanwhile, Dylan Parham was ruled with a foot injury. He missed Week 7 as well, but Peirce said last week he doesn’t expect it to be a long-term injury. Jordan Meredith replaced Parham and has played well.
Among the Raiders’ questionable player for Sunday is backup tight end Harrison Bryant with an elbow injury.
