More bad news for the Vikings

It just keeps getting worse for the Minnesota Vikings in the wake of their 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football.

Adam Schefter is reporting that all-world left tackle Christian Darrisaw is going to require surgery on his left knee following the injury he suffered in Thursday’s loss. That surgery will end his 2024 season after seven games.

Darrisaw got injured on the Vikings’ penultimate play of the first half, an ultimately meaningless play from inside the 5-yard line that saw the Vikings hand the ball to Aaron Jones. Darrisaw got his leg rolled up on by a defensive player and went down to the turf. He needed assistance getting off the field and, obviously, did not return.

One of the cornerstones of the team for the long term, Darrisaw signed a big contract extension this offseason that will keep him in purple through the 2028 season and put him among the highest-paid offensive tackles in the league. His likely replacement is David Quessenberry, who stepped in after Darrisaw got hurt and played the entire second half at left tackle.

Schefter’s story didn’t reveal exactly what the injury was, but once the full story is known we will do an update to this story to let you know.

Once again, Minnesota Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw will require season-ending surgery on his left knee after the injury he suffered on Thursday Night Football.
