Former Detroit Lions WR Josh Reynolds was reportedly shot twice last week, but he has since been treated for “minor injuries.”
Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds was shot twice during an incident outside a strip club in Denver, according to a story from 9NEWS in Denver.
Per the story and court documents, Reynolds, who is currently on injured reserve for the Denver Broncos, suffered two gun wounds, one in his left arm and one in the back of his head. While the story did not have an update on his condition, the Broncos released a statement Thursday that Reynolds was treated for minor injuries.
“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities,” the statement read.
Reynolds was a prominent member of the Lions offense from 2021 to 2023. In 38 total game appearances with Detroit, Reynolds caught 97 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Lions expressed their desire to re-sign him this offseason, but couldn’t come to a deal.
Instead, the veteran receiver signed a two-year deal with the Broncos. Thus far this year, he has made five game appearances for Denver before being placed on injured reserve two weeks ago with a finger injury that required surgery.
If there are any other updates to the situation—particularly involving Reynolds’ health—we’ll update this post with news as it comes in.
