Dexter Lawrence not practicing; Brian Burns, Jalin Hyatt are working
New York Giants cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, who left last Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a groin injury, will not practice on Wednesday and might not be available for Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“We’ll see where he is tomorrow,” head coach Brian Daboll said before practice. “I don’t know if he’d be able to make it this week, but I’m not going to rule him out because he hasn’t been ruled out to me.”
When Flott left the game against the Eagles, Philadelphia picked on his replacement, Nick McCloud, for a 41-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown on McCloud’s first play.
Punter Jamie Gillan, who has missed the last two games with a left hamstring injury, will kick on the side during Wednesday’s practice. Gillan has not punted since suffering the injury.
Edge defender Brian Burns (groin) and wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (rib) are expected to practice.
Not practicing for the Giants will be defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, Adoree’ Jackson (neck) and special teamer Ty Summers (ankle).
Lawrence only participated in one of the Giants’ three practices before playing in last week’s game vs. Philadelphia.
“I’m just taking it for today (with Lawrence),” Daboll said. “Kind of do the similar program that we did last week. We’ll see where he is at tomorrow. Make sure he’s as healthy as he can be.”
