NFL Week 8 staff picks: Moneyline, spread, over/under predictions

NFL Week 8 staff picks: Moneyline, spread, over/under predictions

The POD staff make their predictions for the Week 8 slate of games in the NFL.

We’re nearly to the halfway point of the NFL season, and no, that didn’t mean to sound like a threat, I’m sorry if it came off that way. Here at Pride of Detroit, our staff have made their picks for not only Thursday night’s game, but the entire slate of Week 8 games.

Prior to last week’s matchup, the Thursday night matchups were some really entertaining football. Amazon was flying too close to the sun, so the NFL served them up Bo Nix vs. Spencer Rattler to return balance to the lore of “Thursday Night Football.” This week, the Los Angeles Rams take on the Minnesota Vikings on Amazon Prime for the latest installment in the “Thursday Night Football” saga at 8:15 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, with no teams on a bye in Week 8 for just the second time in the past 21 years thanks to a scheduling quirk, the NFL has 14 games scheduled. No international tilts scheduled for this week, so we’ll have the morning to make a coffee run, maybe even fit in one last early-morning round of golf before packing the clubs away for the winter.

After your early morning activities have come and gone, the Metro Detroit audience will have the Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans in the early 1 p.m. ET. slot on FOX. In addition to the home team, CBS will have a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals in 1 p.m. ET. slot as well.

At 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS will be broadcasting the lone game available in the early evening between the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders. The primetime offering is a contest between NFC rivals: the Dallas Cowboys head west to take on the San Francisco 49ers on “Sunday Night Football” for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC/Peacock.

“Monday Night Football” on ESPN/ABC will showcase the New York Giants vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers at 8:15 p.m. ET.

As we have done in past seasons, our staff will be making weekly predictions for every game on the NFL schedule. Each of the Pride of Detroit staff will pick the moneyline (winner of the game, no spread), but some of the members will also pick against the spread and even the over/under lines—there’s an easy toggle button in the widget below to cycle through the settings. You can also check out all of the odds for this week’s games courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Here is who our staff is picking on the moneyline, spread, and over/under for all 16 games on the NFL Week 8 schedule:
