The latest news on Philadelphia and Cincinnati.
The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 8 road game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Eagles listed four players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Dallas Goedert, Mekhi Becton, Zack Baun, and Byron Young.
Goedert is on track to miss his second straight game due to a hamstring injury.
Becton wasn’t seen during the media-attended portion of practice. That could indicate he’s still in the relatively early stages of the concussion protocol. If Becton can’t play, it’ll be Tyler Steen starting at right guard.
There seems to be optimism about Baun playing on Sunday despite missing today’s practice. His progress over the next two days bears monitoring.
Young, who’s been a healthy scratch all season, was added to the injury report late last week due to hamstring issue. The guess here is that he’ll be stashed away on injured reserve to open up a roster spot later this week.
The Eagles listed five players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Saquon Barkley, Brandon Graham, Darius Slay, Josh Sweat, and Eli Ricks.
Barkley, Graham, Slay, and Sweat all have “rest” designations. They’ll be ready for Sunday.
Ricks, like Byron Young, was unexpectedly added to the injury report late last week. He could also be a candidate to be placed on injured reserve to open a roster spot.
The Eagles listed two players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Albert Okwuegbunam and Ainias Smith.
The Eagles opened Albert O’s 21-day practice window on October 16. They could look to activate him to the roster to have a third tight end behind Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll while Goedert is out.
The Eagles opened Smith’s 21-day practice window on October 7. They could look to activate him to the roster to have a fifth wide receiver behind A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, and Johnny Wilson. Smith could also provide depth at punt returner.
