With WR Cooper Kupp’s return expected Thursday, the Rams might get back both their top receivers soon
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to make his long awaited return Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings. Kupp’s return to the field will be a huge help for LA’s struggling pass offense, but Kupp can’t fix everything on his own. Luckily, it seems like he may not have to hold it down solo for too long.
The Rams have officially designated WR Puka Nacua to return from IR, opening his 21-day practice window today and allowing him to rejoin his teammates on the field. Nacua is also expected to practice Tuesday.

Nacua was hampered by a knee injury all summer and re-aggravated the same knee in LA’s opening game against the Detroit Lions, sidelining him ever since. It should be a monster boost to the team after having to start a combination of Tutu Atwell, Tyler Johnson and Xavier Smith Sunday against the Raiders due to Jordan Whittington also having a shoulder issue. While the Rams walked away with a victory, Matthew Stafford’s passing offense without his top three guys was stagnant to the tune of 154 yards, no touchdowns and an interception.
The Rams offense could look complete different in the next week or two. While Puka is not expected back Thursday vs. the Vikings, he could realistically play against the Seahawks on Nov. 3rd, especially considering the extended break the team will get between games.
It would be the first time since Week 1 that both Kupp and Nacua would be on the field at the same time, and with the breakout of rookie Jordan Whittington, the Rams could be in a great position to turn the season around with over half the year’s games still to go.
It also helps Los Angeles that the NFC West title is still very much in reach despite the team’s 2-4 start. The Seahawks currently hold a two-game lead over the Rams for first place in the division, but the two teams have not meet in the regular season yet, leaving the Rams multiple opportunities to gain on Seattle.
