Estimated injury report as Vikings did not practice today
It’s a short week for the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams as they battle on Thursday night this week. So, rather than the usual Wednesday, the first injury report comes out today. The report is estimated as neither team actually practiced today after playing yesterday.
Minnesota Vikings
- LB Blake Cashman, Toe, DNP (did not practice)
- CB Akayleb Evans, Hip, LP (limited practice)
- TE T.J. Hockenson, knee, LP
- RB Aaron Jones, Hamstring, LP
- OLB Patrick Jones, Shoulder, LP
- TE Josh Oliver, Wrist, LP
- DT Harrison Phillips, Shoulder, LP
- S Theo Jackson, Hand, FP (full participant)
- G Dalton Risner, Back, FP
The big update here for the Vikings is that Risner, as an estimated full participant, is likely to come off IR this week. Lots of speculation that he could replace Ed Ingram at right guard once he returns to the active roster.
At this point I wouldn’t count on Blake Cashman playing on Thursday, but we’ll see. Kevin O’Connell didn’t seem overly optimistic about his playing during his press conference today.
T.J. Hockenson is one to watch this week. He could be activated from IR as well this week. If he doesn’t play on Thursday he’ll have to be activated on Friday or go to season-ending IR so he should be activated this week and most likely for Thursday’s game.
Aaron Jones is also worth monitoring. He seemed fine against the Lions on Sunday but O’Connell said he wasn’t 100%. My guess is he plays on Thursday barring a setback with his hamstring.
I’m expecting the others on the list to play Thursday.
Los Angeles Rams
- ILB Troy Reeder, Hamstring, DNP
- DE Braden Fiske, Back, DNP
- WR Jordan Whittington, Shoulder, DNP
- Neville Gallimore, NT, Shoulder, DNP
- WR Cooper Kupp, Ankle, FP
- OL Joe Noteboom, Ankle, LP
The big one here for the Rams is Cooper Kupp, who is listed as a full participant after missing time with an ankle injury and will play on Thursday.
However, Reeder and Fiske and defensive starters for the Rams that don’t look good at this point for Thursday’s game.
We’ll have more injury reports over the next couple days.
Stay tuned.
