Who will be sitting this one out?
We’re right around ninety minutes ahead of kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions, and both teams have released their inactive lists for today’s contest. Let’s take a look at who will be sitting this one out for both sides.
Detroit Lions
- TE Parker Hesse
- OL Giovanni Manu
- S Loren Strickland
- DL Isaiah Thomas
- WR Isaiah Williams
- OL Kevin Zeitler
Zeitler being out for this one is pretty big, as he’s one of the best at his position in the league. That could open up a weak spot on the offensive line for the Vikings to exploit.
Minnesota Vikings
- LB Blake Cashman
- CB Akayleb Evans
- RB Myles Gaskin
- CB Dwight McGlothern
- DL Levi Drake Rodriguez
- OL Walter Rouse
- QB Brett Rypien (emergency QB)
T.J. Hockenson and Dalton Risner are not listed as inactive, despite being downgraded to “out” for this one, because neither of them are actually on the active roster yet. No real surprises on the inactive list with both Cashman and Evans having been declared out on the team’s final injury report.
Also, Aaron Jones, Harrison Phillips, and Pat Jones II are officially “up” after being listed as questionable on the injury report on Friday. The fact that Gaskin is inactive must mean the team has faith that Jones is at 100%.
Those are the inactive lists for this one, folks. The first Open Thread of the day will be dropping at around 11:30 AM Central, and we hope that you’ll join us for today’s game!
