Here’s everything you need to know about the Eagles’ Week 7 divisional game.
The Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) are fresh off a win and ready for their first NFC East battle of the season on Sunday against the New York Giants (2-4).
This is a big game for many reasons, including Saquon Barkley’s anticipated return to MetLife as an Eagle. The running back doesn’t know how he’ll be received by the crowd, and at least publicly says that he doesn’t intend to approach this game any differently. That seems like a tough thing to do for a guy who spent years waiting for the Giants to commit to him, only to end up signing with a division opponent.
Barkley will need to have a good game, too, with the Eagles announcing LT Jordan Mailata has been placed on IR as he deals with a significant hamstring injury, and TE Dallas Goedert will miss Sunday’s game due to a hamstring injury, as well.
Some good news for the Eagles defense, however, with second-year DB Sydney Brown activated off IR after tearing his ACL at the end of last season. Brown will be an explosive addition to an increasingly exciting secondary that now includes rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. They group will certainly be tested on Sunday against the Giants too, with their own rookie, WR Malik Nabers, clearing concussion protocol just in time to suit up.
The Eagles offense was encouraging last week against the Browns, but they still struggled to get going early and wasted two drives finding a rhythm. Starting off fast was a point of emphasis for the team during the bye week, and was something they wanted to address. Hopefully they can get things going quickly against the Giants, and find ways to finish drives and score touchdowns consistently.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.

History Lesson
The Eagles win the all-time series between these NFC East opponents, 90-86-2, and have won four of their five most-recent meetings. The Giants did get the last win, however, beating the Eagles 27-10 in the final regular season game of the 2023 season — but, at that point, A.J. Brown was sidelined with an injury and the absolute implosion of the team was well-established.
