Ivey is poised to make his 2024 debut.
The Cincinnati Bengals have activated cornerback DJ Ivey to the roster from the physically unable to perform list and elevated center Trey Hill from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game at the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Saturday.
Ivey had been on the PUP list since August 27th while rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered in the 2023 season. He was cleared to resume practicing on October 9th, so it appears he will be making his 2024 debut on Sunday for a Bengals defense that’s a bit thin at the cornerback position.
Hill is classified as standard elevation. As a practice squad player elevated to the active roster for the game, he will automatically revert to the practice squad on Monday. The veteran lineman gives the Bengals depth at multiple spots along the offensive line, so that’s a big reason why he’s getting called up for a second straight week.
