Is this going to be round 3 for Troy Hill with the Rams?
The Los Angeles Rams have signed Troy Hill two times in his career, should they make it a third now that he’s been released by the Carolina Panthers? The 1-5 Panthers released Hill to “go younger” according to Ian Rapoport, intentionally not citing Hill as a problem because he’s 33…Which is not nearly as old as Carolina’s starting quarterback Andy Dalton. But okay.
As the #Panthers go younger, source says they’re releasing veteran CB Troy Hill. It’s a move that makes sense for both sides, as an experienced defender becomes available. pic.twitter.com/jjD0h8P9ah

Hill played in all six games, making two official starts, and had 32 tackles with one pass breakup. He’s in his tenth NFL season, having started with the Bengals in 2015 as an undrafted free agent, then joining the Rams on the final day of the year after he had been waived by Cincinnati, and then a 5-day stint with the Patriots. Hill spent five years with the Rams, working his way up to a full-time starter in year five, and then had one year with the Cleveland Browns. Hill returned to the Rams on a free agent contract in 2022, but went to Carolina to reunite with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
Should the Rams use Hill to help patch up one of the NFL’s worst pass defenses and secondary? While it’s not clear if they should, it’s fair to assume that they might.
