Keys to a road win

The Las Vegas Raiders play at the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff at 1:05 p.m. PT,

Here are keys to a victory:

Break SoFi trend:

The good news is the Raiders will have a lot of fan support on Sunday. Let’s face it; they own SoFi Stadium in terms of fans in the seats. When the Raiders opened the season at SoFi against the Chargers, the stands were filled with about 70 percent Raiders fans. But it hasn’t translated to on-field success for the Silver and Black. They are 1-5 at SoFi Stadium with five straight losses. Their only win there came in 2020 when there weren’t any fans in the stands. So, that trend needs to change.

Get to Stafford:

Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford is not mobile at all. So, this won’t be the case of trying to contain Justin Fields like last week. Stafford is going to stand in the pocket and fire away. The Raiders need to pressure him and get to him or he can pick the Raiders apart,

Break turnover epidemic:

The Raiders have committed 12 turnovers in six games. They have been extremely careless with the football. They are not giving themselves a chance to win because of it. The Rams are pretty woeful at 1-4. So, the Raiders can’t give them any chances.

Contain Rams ground game:

The Raiders have had trouble tackling all season and it has hurt in the running game defensively. The Steelers had 183 rushing yards. Rams running back Kyren Williams is dangerous. He can compile chunk yardage if the Raiders don’t contain him.

Play well in second quarter:

The Raiders have started well in games, but they have fallen off in the second quarter, especially on offense. Las Vegas has scored just 16 points in the second quarter all season and 10 of those points came in the Cleveland game in Week 4. The Raiders need to have momentum not the half to setup the second half.
