Evan Neal Exercising Patience as He Waits for His Number to Be Called | SI.com
“In terms of technique, Carm does see things a little bit different than our last coach (Bobby Johnson) did, but he’s allowing me to go out there and play ball,” Neal said. “That’s another big thing as well. When I started practicing about a month and a half ago, that was my first time playing ball in about a year. So I feel like at that point in time, they were just allowing me to go out there and play, knock the rust off, and then, ‘Okay, how can we coach this better? How can we do that better?’”

“It’s been extremely hard. I’ve been a competitor and I’ve been a winner my entire life.”

Giants’ Andrew Thomas’ season-ending injury puts spotlight on Joe Schoen’s offensive line failures | NJ.com
Giants third-year general manager Joe Schoen had a bunch of roster holes to address this offseason — partly due to his own failings, especially on the offensive line.
But he did not make any significant moves to address a major problem from last season — offensive tackle depth. And that could come back to bite Schoen and the Giants on Sunday against the Eagles, who have the NFL’s fourth-best pass rush, according to Pro Football Focus.
NFL Week 7 Preview: Schedule, storylines and matchups to watch | PFF
Matchups to watch: Giants Edge Brian Burns vs. Eagles LT Fred Johnson. The most likely name tabbed to replace Mailata at left tackle is swing tackle Fred Johnson, who has largely struggled this year. His alarming 35.8 PFF pass-block rating comes as a result of having allowed a pressure on over 24% of his pass sets, including a pair of pressures on just five reps this past week. Although Brian Burns (groin) finds himself on the injury report to start the week, if he is able to go, this would be a plus-plus matchup to take advantage of. Over his last two outings, Burns has generated 11 pressures, including a pair of sacks.
NFL Playoff Projections 2024: Examining the Postseason Chances for All 32 Teams | ProFootballNetwork.com
New York Giants’ Playoff Chances: 15.1%. We are getting to the point of being able to write off the New York Giants. But at 2-4, they are only two games out of first place in the division, having had narrow losses to the Cowboys and Washington Commanders. They do not look like a playoff team, sitting 22nd in our power rankings. Everything about this team is below average, with their defense 18th and their offense 25th in our metrics. The only thing that is not below average is the difficulty of their remaining schedule, which ranks as the ninth-hardest.
Hello, Germany
NFL EVP Peter O’Reilly says ticket demand for Panthers-Giants is higher than the Bucs-Seahawks game (which featured Tom Brady) in Munich two years ago.
Also, there soon will be a team-themed bierhaus for all 10 teams with marketing rights in Germany.
Giddyup.

NFL panic meter: How worried should Cowboys, Browns and other struggling teams be? | The Athletic
Low-grade panic mode: New York Giants (2-4) Can you really call it panic mode when your roster had the look of a subpar operation to begin with? Maybe if you’re Brian Daboll, head coach of a team that regressed in Year 2 and continues to struggle in Year 3. Daniel Jones remains erratic and hasn’t thrown a touchdown at home since Jan. 1, 2023, while directing an offense that has failed to score 20 points four times in six games this season. The Giants weren’t going to win the NFC East this season, but they need to show some real improvement as their coach’s seat heats up.
Updated NFL coach hot seat: Who will be the 2nd coach fired after Robert Saleh? | Yahoo Sports
Brian Daboll, New York Giants. Daboll is 17-22-1 as Giants head coach but he’s trending in the wrong direction. The Giants had a fortunate playoff appearance in Daboll’s first season and not much has gone right since. They’re 2-4 this season, and whether Daboll survives the year if the team continues losing probably has to do with how ownership feels about the roster. It’s also reasonable the team could hold Daboll accountable for quarterback Daniel Jones still being stuck in the middle of the road. Daboll seemed like a decent pick as the first coach fired this season. The Giants haven’t been terrible though. We’ll see how fed up Giants ownership is if the team goes on a losing streak.

Mekhi Becton: Everything is just bad about MetLife Stadium | Pro Football Talk
“I don’t wanna play in that shitty stadium,” Becton said. “It’s bad. Everything is just bad about that stadium. I don’t really like it. I’m just glad I only gotta do it one time a year. Just gotta go in there, do my 1-11 and go home.”
The turf at MetLife Stadium has been the subject of much criticism over the years and it’s been blamed for a number of injuries. Becton dealt with major injury issues during his time with the Jets, but none of them came on his home field. That didn’t stop him from saying that things didn’t “feel right about that turf” while outlining some of the things he didn’t like about the building.
PFF Grades and Data: Key insights for every NFL Week 7 game | PFF

Saquon Barkley’s leadership has motivated Eagles locker room as RB is set to face Giants for first time | CBSSports.com
“You could see it for yourself,” said Eagles center Nick Gates, a former teammate of Barkley with the New York Giants. “He’s had a hell of a year so far. I hope he continues to do it. He’s a good player. Any line he’d run behind, he’d be good. Especially here, with the guys we have up front. It’s awesome to see them work together and do things together.”
