Hamilton County is considering the change.
The Cincinnati Bengals could be getting an upgrade to their home stadium.
According to Cincinnati Business Courier, Hamilton County is investigating the cost and logistics of adding a dome to Paycor Stadium as part of its process for potentially renewing its lease on the Bengals’ home.
Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Enquirer quoted Hamilton County Board of Commissioners President Alicia Reece as saying, “We don’t want somebody sitting here in 20 years asking, ‘Why in the world didn’t they think about it?’ Because I’ve been thinking the same thing, ‘Why didn’t these guys get a dome last time?’”
This is the latest development in stadium talks. Just last month, Hamilton County officials shared a $1.25 billion renovation plan for Paycor that would update north end zone sections, add more premium seating options, expand the surrounding plaza, and include an indoor practice facility.
While Joe Burrow and the high-flying offense would probably love to throw in a dome late into the season, that is at least a couple of years away. In the meantime, they have to focus on just beating the Cleveland Browns to stay in contention.
