Meko and Morgan are back on the Pride of Detroit YouTube channel, talking the Dallas game and much more.
Meko Scott and I (Morgan Cannon) are back on the Pride of Detroit YouTube channel, discussing several topics from the Detroit Lions game against the Dallas Cowboys, as well as our thoughts on whether or not we believe the Lions have the best safety and running back duos in the NFL.
To start off, we talked a bit about the injury to Lions star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, and what that means for the rest of the defense through the 2024 season. Who will need to step up in Hutchinson’s absence, and how defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn can make things work?
Next, we discussed offensive coordinator Ben Johnson’s offense, and if we thought his play-calling against Dallas was him having a bit of fun in the blowout, or if it was a bit of a message to the Cowboys and the rest of the league? Maybe a bit of both if we are being honest.
Lastly, Meko posed the question: do Lions have the best running back or safety tandem in the league? I believe there is a case to be made for both.
Running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs have looked like two of the best ball-carriers in the league since the season began, and despite being young—safeties Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch have both elevated their respective games to new heights, forcing turnovers and causing issues for opposing quarterbacks.
