Other Giant observations
Boomer & Gio sound off on Giants offense, Daniel Jones | WFAN.com
“Daniel Jones last night…you watch some of those throws, they were woefully inaccurate,” Boomer said. “He has opportunity after opportunity to make a play and go through his progression, and sometimes he just locks onto guys…he did it again last night. That fourth down throw to [Darius] Slayton, the defender is right there, but the ball is behind him…he didn’t even have a chance to make a play.”
Eluemunor: Need to do better to win
“We felt like we should’ve won, but we just didn’t execute enough to win that game”

Giants offense at risk of causing friction amid defensive dominance | New York Post
“They don’t really say too much about it or anything, but just internally, we feel like we let those guys down,’’ Wen’Dale Robinson said. “I feel like they played a helluva game, and we just didn’t go out there and put up enough points for those guys. There’s no blame or anything like that. It’s football. There could be one game when we’re clicking and they might not be clicking the way that they want. We’re one big team, and everybody holds each other accountable. There’s no blame to go around.’’
NFL Week 7 Power Rankings 2024: How all 32 teams stack up | ESPN.com
New York’s offensive line is improved, it added a No. 1 wide receiver in Malik Nabers and coach Brian Daboll is calling plays. It’s still not enough. This team struggles to score points … again! The Giants are 29th in the NFL, averaging 16.0 points per game. This is after being 30th in the league with 15.6 PPG last season. “The ultimate goal is to score points,” Daboll said. The Giants just haven’t figured out how to do it consistently.
Buy, sell or hold: What should each NFL team do at the 2024 trade deadline? | PFF
New York Giants: SELL The Giants likely won’t be competing for a playoff spot, so they should see what can they get for Darius Slayton or Azeez Ojulari. Slayton ranks tied for eighth in receiving yards over the past three weeks, while Ojulari racked up a season-high six quarterback pressures in Week 6 against the Bengals.
A #BaldyBreakdown of Azeez Ojulari
.@Giants defense couldnt play much better v @bengals who had been averaging 35 points a game over the last 3 games. @agentdexy97 has 7 sacks in first 6 games. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/DDbXbJrhlr

Giants’ Tyrone Tracy making strong case for committee approach to fill Saquon Barkley void | NJ.com
Saquon Barkley returns to MetLife Stadium on Sunday — which puts a spotlight on how the Giants have replaced his dynamic production.
Entering the season, with Barkley now in Philadelphia, it seemed they’d go with a committee approach in the backfield — Devin Singletary as the top guy, but either fifth-round rookie Tyrone Tracy or second-year pro Eric Gray also getting a bunch of work.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. nominated for Rookie of the Week | Giants.com
For the second consecutive week, running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. With Devin Singletary sidelined again due to a groin injury, Tracy started in the backfield for the Giants in their Sunday night matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The rookie carried the ball 17 times for 50 yards and his first NFL touchdown, while matching Darius Slayton for the team-lead with six receptions for 57 yards.
This marks the sixth straight week that a Giant has been nominated for the rookie honor, as Malik Nabers was up for the award following each of the first four games of the season.

New York Giants scouted Georgia-Mississippi State, others | USAToday.com
The New York Giants were again on the road over the weekend, hard at work scouting some of the top NCAA schools and players ahead of their Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. For the second consecutive week, general manager Joe Schoen was not publicly known to have personally scouted a game but you have to imagine he was in the booth somewhere. Scouts were reported at Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt, Iowa vs. Washington, Georgia vs. Mississippi State, a and BYU vs. Arizona.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Jets select Aaron Rodgers’ eventual replacement as four QBs are taken in Round 1 – CBSSports.com
7. New York Giants: Quinn Ewers QB, Texas. Even with Daniel Jones’ mini-resurgence the past few weeks, the Giants still need to set their sights higher at the position. Ewers has shown high-end play on the field the past two seasons when healthy. The “when healthy” part is the key there as he’s now missed time in three straight seasons. That may scare some off, but with Ewers’ tools the risk is worth the reward at this point.

Nick Sirianni apologizes for his behavior toward Eagles fans | NFL.com
Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni offered a mea culpa following his late-game interaction with the home fans during Sunday’s win over Cleveland.
“I would say this about that: What I was really doing was trying to bring energy, enthusiasm yesterday. And I’m sorry and disappointed about how my energy was directed at the end of the game,” he said. “My energy should be all in on coaching, motivating, and celebrating with our guys. And so, I’ve got to have better wisdom and discernment of when to use that energy, and that wasn’t the time.”
Vic Fangio: Nick Sirianni didn’t call a defensive play | Pro Football Talk
Sirianni didn’t specify which play he called and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio explained at his Tuesday press conference that is because Sirianni didn’t actually call a play. Fangio said that Sirianni told coaches to be on the lookout for something ahead of a third-and-long and that the comment was “inconsequential.”
“It wasn’t a defensive call. It was just a situation thing to where he just said ‘hey, be alert for this.’ He didn’t call a defense,” Fangio said.
Eagles will receive 2026 second-round pick from Jets if Haason Reddick gets moved to NFC team | Bleeding Green Nation
Currently, the Eagles are only set to get the Jets’ 2026 second-round pick if Reddick meets the following two conditions: 1) 10 sacks … AND … 2) 67.5% of defensive snaps played. Otherwise, the Eagles will receive the Jets’ 2026 third-round pick. However, according to Josina Anderson, the Eagles will automatically receive the Jets’ 2026 second-round pick if Reddick gets traded to an NFC team.
Spadaro: The time is now for rookies Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean | PhiladelphiaEagles.com
In Sunday’s 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns, Mitchell made his fifth start of the season and played all 57 defensive snaps, recording three tackles and playing a part in limiting a dangerous receiving corps to just 168 total passing yards. DeJean was used as the team’s starting nickel corner for the first time this season and played 52 snaps, recorded 6 total tackles, half a quarterback sack, and helped on another on two effective edge blitzes and handled a quarterback hit.
