The Lions and Cowboys final score has never happened before.
The Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys in incredibly convincing fashion on Sunday. Obviously that won’t be the most important news to come out of the game following the long-term injury to Aidan Hutchinson, but the Lions and Cowboys set an NFL record on Sunday.
No NFL game had ever ended with a final score of 47-9 until this week.

An NFL “Scorigami” is a final score that’s never happened before. It’s the third unique final score in league history to happen this season following the 32-19 score on the opening Monday night between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets and the 44-19 Cowboys loss to the New Orleans Saints in mid-September. That’s right, the Cowboys had been blown out twice this season to secure Scorigami!
In case you’re wondering, when Lions’ coach Dan Campbell went for it on fourth down in Dallas territory late in the game, it didn’t jeopardize the Scorigami. If they had kicked a field goal, a 50-9 score has also never happened.
