The latest news on Philadelphia and Cleveland.
The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 6 home game against the Cleveland Browns.
It was the Eagles’ first practice following their bye week. The players were in pads.
The Eagles listed seven players under FULL PARTICIPATION: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Lane Johnson, Reed Blankenship, Johnny Wilson, Sydney Brown, and Ainias Smith.
The big news is that A.J., DeVonta, and Johnson are all indeed on track to return to the field this weekend. Big boost for the Eagles’ offense.
Blankenship and Wilson are also on track to play despite leaving the Eagles’ Week 4 game early.
The Eagles activated 21-day practice windows for Sydney Brown and Ainias Smith earlier this week. It seems like Sydney Brown might be activated to the active roster in time for Sunday’s game. The Eagles have until 4:00 PM Eastern on Saturday to make that move to allow Brown to play against the Browns. The team has an open roster spot to fill after releasing Devin White. Ainias Smith might be healthy enough to play but the Eagles might not be in a rush to activate him since the rookie might just be inactive anyway.
The Eagles listed one player under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Nakobe Dean.
It’s unclear if Dean got hurt in Wednesday’s practice or had previously been dealing with an ankle issue. Perhaps the Eagles are just taking it easy on him early in the week. We’ll find out more about his status as this week progresses. With White gone, the Eagles have Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Ben VanSumeren, and Oren Burks as backup linebacker options.

CLEVELAND BROWNS INJURY REPORT (WEDNESDAY)
The Browns’ injury report is LONG. They have 20 players listed! And only two of them were listed full participation.
The players who did not practice: starting wide receiver Amari Cooper (though just a rest day), starting tight end David Njoku, starting center Ethan Pocic, backup left tackle James Hudson, starting edge rusher Myles Garrett, starting cornerback Denzel Ward, starting safety Grant Delpit, starting safety Ronnie Hickman, and backup running back D’Onta Foreman. So … that’s a lot of key players who could be in jeopardy of missing this weekend’s game!
Nine players were listed under limited. Key players among them: starting running back Nick Chubb, starting left tackle Jedrick Wills, starting right tackle Jack Conklin, starting right guard Zak Zinter, and starting linebacker (and old friend) Jordan Hicks. So … four of the five members of the Browns’ offensive line are on the injury report. Joel Bitonio is the only player who isn’t. The Browns opened Chubb’s 21-day practice window last week and it’s not perfectly clear if he’s ready yet. Still might be a week away. Hicks missed Week 5 but he might be able to return for this game.
Again, on paper, the well-rested Eagles should have a significant advantage over this injured team that’s about to play their third straight road game.
