Don’t matter really.
That was another great win this past weekend. There a lot of areas to be concerned about but that is part of the process in a long season. I cannot understand why some folks get sensitive about other folks saying Sam Darnold was off or the special teams needs work. You can offer that observation while at the same time enjoying the game. Multi-tasking!
Should the Vikings be the top ranked team in the league or do these rankings not really matter?

NFL Week 5 Power Rankings: Will the Chiefs or Vikings be the last undefeated team?
2 Minnesota Vikings 5-0
We’ll see how well the Jets win ages, but we can put it in the quality win bucket for now. That’s four impressive wins in a row for the Vikings. The offense wasn’t great, but that was against a tough defense. No team has looked more complete this season.
NFL power rankings Week 6: Experts grapple with surging Vikings at No. 1
Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: No. 1 (no change)
Johnson: “The Minnesota Vikings are a perfect 5-0 heading into the bye and headed back from London. That’s what is most important for Minnesota right now. However, the Aaron Jones injury (hip) is the big question coming out of this game. Minnesota’s offense looked lifeless without its Pro Bowl running back, a bit reminiscent of what happened last season with a non-existent run game Kevin O’Connell was forced to abandon. Jones missing time would be a massive blow for the Vikings offense.”
Through the first five weeks of the season, the Minnesota Vikings have looked like the best team in the NFL.
The undefeated Vikings have been so dominant that they’ve only trailed for a total of 3:26 over the first five weeks of the season, and if NFL history is any indication, the Vikings could soon be Super Bowl bound.
Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, only five other teams have made it through the first five weeks of the season while trailing for 4:30 or less and ALL FIVE of those teams ended up making it to the Super Bowl with three of them winning it.
Here’s a look at the list (via ESPN stats and info):
1. 2009 Saints (Trailed for zero seconds in first five weeks): Won Super Bowl
2. 1984 Dolphins (Trailed for 1:07): Lost Super Bowl
3. 2023 49ers (Trailed for 1:45): Lost Super Bowl
4. 1999 Rams (Trailed for 2:30): Won Super Bowl
5. 2024 Vikings (Trailed for 3:26): TBA
6. 1998 Broncos (Trailed for 4:23): Won Super Bowl
