“It’s on me,” Chase said after the team’s overtime loss.
The Cincinnati Bengals lost in heart-breaking fashion at home to the Baltimore Ravens in their first AFC North battle of the season. Cincinnati has dropped to 1-4 with the defeat, and the loss was, in part, due to a late-game interception from Joe Burrow, the one flaw of his near-perfect game.
The interception came on the team’s second-to-last possession of the game, but with it, the Ravens were able to go down in an 8-play, 34-yard drive and kick a field goal to tie things up.
Chase, who was the intended receiver on the play, commented on it after the game and took ownership of the play.
Ja’Marr Chase on Burrow’s INT: “Shitty route. It’s one me.”

Chase was still the star of the day, leading all players with his 193 receiving yards. His 10 receptions bested teammate Tee Higgins, and he was tied with Isaiah Likely for the only player with two receiving scores on the game.
Chase had one of his best games as a pro, but that one blemish may have cost the Bengals the game. With five divisional games still on the horizon, the season isn’t over for Cincinnati, but it certainly won’t be an easy battle the rest of the day.
Thankfully, they’ll get the New York Giants in Week 6, a game in which the Bengals should be a significant favorite in.
