And it’s nice to see

It’s time to take a look at this week’s SB Nation Reacts Results regarding our Minnesota Vikings, and we’ve got a lot to cover this week so let’s get to it.

As always, we’ll kick things off with whether or not our readers think that the Vikings are heading in the right direction. The confidence meter is still high among the fan base, although our number did go down this week by a very small amount.

Of our respondents, 97% believe that the Vikings are heading in the right direction. That number was at 98% last week, so I suppose that it was inevitable for it to drop a slight bit. Still, 97% is a pretty darn good number compared to what I think a lot of folks were expecting by now heading into the season.

Our next question has to do with the International Series, which the Vikings will be a part of this week when they take on the New York Jets. We asked whether you liked the international games or not, and we got a bit of a mixed bag with the results.

Of the people who voted in the poll, 39% said they were done with the International Series games, while 30% said that they don’t care one way or the other if the NFL continues with them. Another 21% said that they enjoy seeing the Vikings take their game overseas, while the final 10% of our respondents said that they like the international games but don’t want the Vikings taking part in them.

I find myself in the majority on this one. Sure, there’s the upside that the Vikings are done by right around noon on Sunday, but other than that, as I said in our roundtable discussion for this week, I don’t really care much for these games, particularly if they’re going to be played on fields that would appear to be more conducive to injuries.

The last question from our poll has to do with Sam Darnold and the possibility of the Vikings extending his contract. Darnold is currently playing on a one-year, $10 million deal that he signed this offseason. There was a pretty good split here as well.

Half of our readers said that they would consider an extension for Slingin’ Sammy, while 45% apparently feel that he’s already earned one. Just 5% of our readers said no.

While it’s a bit early in the season, I can see where the case could be made for Darnold to get a contract extension. The problem, as we know, is that the Vikings have J.J. McCarthy waiting in the wings and that they’re pretty excited about the prospect of him taking over. I honestly think the Vikings are going to let Darnold go after this season and roll into 2025 with McCarthy at the helm because that’s what they’ve been sort of gearing up for. In addition, if Darnold keeps this up, that new contract is going to be awfully expensive.

Unless the Vikings win the Super Bowl this year. Then give Darnold an extension, a house on Lake Minnetonka, and whatever else he wants, quite frankly.

This week, we’ve also got a look at this week’s game from our friends at FanDuel. It looks like a lot of folks are expecting the Vikings to go into the bye week at 5-0 when things are done in London on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings currently sit as a 2.5-point favorite in this one, and 88% of the money for this one has come in on them. I don’t think that’s terribly surprising at this point, but it’s nice to see that if people want to pad their bankroll they think the Vikings are a team to do it with.

Those are our SB Nation Reacts results for this week, ladies and gentlemen. Thanks to everyone who participated in this week’s poll, and we’ll have more questions for you next week.
