It’s time for our seasonal approval poll check-in. Do you approve of the job Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell is doing?
We’ve reached the Detroit Lions’ bye week, and that’s always a good opportunity to take inventory of the team. And it all starts at the top.
Lions coach Dan Campbell has been the face of this franchise for over three years, and they’ve done some historic things with him at the helm. Last year, they not only tied a franchise record 12 wins in a season, but they also set a Super Bowl-era record with two postseason wins in a single season.
This year is off to a similar start. While it wasn’t pretty early on, the Lions have seemingly gotten their mojo back with a big Monday night win over the Seattle Seahawks. They are now only behind the Minnesota Vikings in the entire NFC, and Monday’s win also pushed Campbell to an exactly .500 record through 55 games (27-27-1), becoming just the second Lions coach in the past 50 years to reach that accomplishment.
Campbell’s coaching doesn’t without some criticism, though. His aggressive play style rubs people the wrong way, and many clearly still carry resentment from the decisions he made in the NFC Championship game. Because of that, all of his in-game decisions are questioned, and to be fair, he’s already made one pretty big blunder this season, with the end-of-half field goal fiasco in the Buccaneers game that proved costly.
Before we give you a chance to vote on whether you approve of the job Campbell is doing, let’s look at his approval rating over three seasons.
