Lawrence Cager released with injury settlement; Kearis Jackson officially added
The New York Giants made several changes to their practice squad on Tuesday.
The Giants made official the addition of wide receiver/kick returner Kearis Jackson, a move that was initially reported on Monday. Jackson might find a role as a kickoff returner.
Defensive back Greg Stroman, a 2018 seventh-round pick by Washington, was also added to the practice squad. Stroman, 28, has played in 29 games with five starts for Washington and the Chicago Bears. He played in seven games for Chicago last season.
The Giants released three players to make room.
Tight end Lawrence Cager, who was on practice squad/injured, was released with an injury settlement. Cager played in 17 games for the Giants over the 2022 and 2023 seasons, catching 17 passes.
The Giants also released rookie defensive back Alex Johnson and tight end Joel Wilson. Wilson was just signed to the practice squad a week ago.
The Giants did not sign veteran quarterback C.J. Beathard, who was part of the group that worked out for the team on Monday.
