Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 10/1/24

The Los Angeles Rams suffered a disappointing loss the Chicago Bears this past Sunday. Both teams are in the NFC and so this loss could have ripple effects throughout the season. Can you guess which Chicago players PFF graded the highest? I am guessing you are here then you guess correctly. D’Andre Swift mauled the Rams yesterday and apparently PFF confirms that with their grade.

You can read about other Bears players below. Maybe this time next week we will have more positive things to say about the Rams, but for now LA is 1-3 and it is what it is.

Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and please comment on whatever you’d like!

PFF player grades: Top performing Bears in victory over Rams (athlonsports)

“Here are the top-graded overall players (minimum of 10 snaps played), according to Pro Football Focus. For reference, a grade of 60.0 is considered average while those in the 30s are very poor and those in the 90s are elite.

Offense

RB D’Andre Swift: 70.8

WR DJ Moore: 67.5

RB Roschon Johnson: 67.4

LT Braxton Jones: 67.2

QB Caleb Williams: 63.0

WR Keenan Allen: 60.4

RT Darnell Wright: 58.7

TE Cole Kmet: 58.3

TE Gerald Everett: 56.3

TE Marcedes Lewis: 55.5

Swift is the highlight on offense, as he finally broke out as a Bear for the first time this season. Playing 38 total snaps, he combined for 165 total yards from scrimmage (93 rushing yards on 16 carries and seven catches for 72 yards). He also broke off a 36-yard touchdown run that was the deciding factor in the game.”

Packers expect WR Christian Watson (ankle) out vs. Rams (espn)

“GREEN BAY, Wis. — The ankle injury Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson sustained in the first half of Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings is expected to keep him out of Week 5’s game at the Los Angeles Rams.

Watson, one of the Packers’ starting receivers, was injured when he got his left leg caught underneath him on a pass from Jordan Love that was picked off by Vikings linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill in the second quarter of Sunday’s 31-29 loss to Minnesota at Lambeau Field.

“I would assume he’d probably be out most likely at least a week or so,” LaFleur said Monday.

If the Packers put Watson on injured reserve, he will be required to miss four games. A source said both Watson and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt sustained high ankle sprains. LaFleur said he had no information on Wyatt.”

Rams Designate Darious Williams For Return (profootballrumors)

“The Rams are designating Darious Williams for return, per KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. A hamstring injury moved Williams to IR just before Week 1, making the veteran cornerback eligible to play in Week 5 — should the Rams deem him ready.

Unlike defensive lineman Larrell Murchison and rookie offensive lineman K.T. Leveston, the Rams did not place Williams on IR with a return designation upon setting their 53-man roster. Those two designations already count toward Los Angeles’ eight-activation total; Williams will not count toward that total until activated. Though, it seems a fairly good bet Williams will be one of L.A.’s IR activations soon.”
