The Cincinnati Bengals hold the No. 10 selection in this year’s draft, but that doesn’t mean the club will keep the pick. Plenty of scenarios exist wherein the Bengals could maneuver in the first round.

While there are blue-chip prospects in this year’s class, the Bengals could miss out on them — even at No. 10. With these potential realities, some believe Cincinnati should trade down, collect more picks, and fill other needs.

One NFL insider, Jordan Schultz, who has had a good pulse on the league and, more specifically, the Bengals, believes many trades could occur in the coming NFL Draft.

While the Bengals hold what is widely considered to be a premium pick, their history of moving back and collecting other selections. If the draft falls a certain way, the Bengals could be inclined to trade the pick.

Cincinnati currently holds a premium pick. A number of top defenders could go off the board by the time they pick. Cincinnati could look to trade out of its spot. The consensus is that they will spend the vast majority of their early picks on defense, but things could change.

Throwing a wrench into many teams’ draft plans is the recent demand for a trade by Dexter Lawrence, which could shake up the first round if he’s dealt.

Regardless, the Bengals may be looking at a handful of players they view in the late-first or early-second-round range. If they feel they can get ample value for that pick, they may be inclined to move back.

Ohio State’s four prospects that have often been mocked in the first round (one offense, three defense) should be on Cincinnati’s radar, but the team will likely see how things play out before their pick. For now, keep the Bengals in mind when it comes to Schultz’s insider report.

What would you think about the Bengals trading out of the No. 10 spot?
