With just over two weeks to go until the 2026 NFL Draft, fans of the Minnesota Vikings are starting to buzz over who the Minnesota Vikings will be welcoming into the fold over the course of Draft Weekend. We’re no different, as we’ll be doing our part to bring you the best coverage of this year’s selection meeting from the perspective of our favorite team, as we try to do every single year.
How many young men will be hearing their names called to bring their talents to Minnesota over the course of those three days? That was the question we asked in our SB Nation Reacts poll for this week. The Vikings, barring any trades over the next couple of weeks, are set to head into Draft Weekend with nine selections, but the most popular response among our readers for this week leads us to believe that they’ll be coming out with more than that.
Of those who responded to our poll this week, 34% believe that the Vikings will find a way to make ten or more selections over the course of this year’s NFL Draft. It was a close race, with 27% believing that nine is just the right number and another 23% channeling their inner Dick van Patten and telling us that eight is enough.
(Props for the, like, three of you out there who are, hopefully, at least laughing at that a little bit.)
For some reason, there are 16% of you out there who think the Vikings are going to find a way to make seven or fewer picks over the course of the three days of the 2026 NFL Draft. I’m not sure if I can see a pathway to that for our favorite team, but stranger things have happened before, I suppose.
I do think that the Vikings are going to be fairly active in the trade market over the course of Draft Weekend. I don’t know if they’ll trade down in Round 1 or anything like that, but beyond that, I think anything is fair game. I believe they’ll find a way to get themselves into double-digit selections, because this team has a lot of depth charts that need shoring up, whether we want to admit it or not. I know they’re going to be active in the post-draft UDFA signing frenzy as well, because they always are, but they need to make sure they get their guys during the actual selection meeting as well.
As always, we want to thank everyone who took the time to participate in this week’s poll. Keep your eyes open for the next one!
