Our 2026 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft rolls on. With the first pick, we didn’t see any surprises. The Las Vegas Raiders made the pick we all expected: Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
The 2026 NFL Draft really starts with the New York Jets. After a tough first season, Aaron Glenn nearly cleaned house with his coaching staff and even sent some foundational players away. With two first-round picks in this year’s draft, Glenn and company have a chance to turn things around in a hurry.
To help Glenn out in our POD Community Mock Draft, commenter JustWinginit has been selected to be the team’s general manager.
And with the second pick in the Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the New York Jets have selected Arvell Reese, edge defender out of Ohio State.
Here’s JustWinginit explaining the pick:
With the second pick in the 2026 NFL draft, I selected Arvell Reese. My strategy this draft is to predict each Jets pick based on what I believe they are likely to do, more so than what I would do if I was them. Reese is a monster, resembling Micah Parsons in a lot of ways through both athleticism and versatility. I believe Aaron Glenn is looking for a guy to build their defense around and Reese jumps off the page. His off-ball skills combined with his pass rushing instincts make him one of the more gifted front 7 players to come out of college the last few years.
While I don’t expect him to be a game-breaker from Week 1, I am predicting him to have a Trayvon Walker-esque ascension as he learns to play edge the way coach Glenn will need him.
