The Cincinnati Bengals need a defensive tackle to take up space and stuff ball carriers who try to run up the middle.
It then makes sense that they are considering Ohio State standout Kayden McDonald with the tenth overall pick.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, McDonald confirmed that he formally met with several teams at the Combine with the Bengals being one of them.
He also said that the Bengals used one of their top 30 visits on him. “Every team that needs a physical defensive tackle has been in touch with me,” McDonald said.
In 2025, the 6’2, 326-pound prospect had 65 total tackles, including three sacks, two forced fumbles, and nine tackles for a loss.
According to his NFL.com scouting profile, McDonald has a rare ability to tackle ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage for an interior defender. He also plays around blocks well and fights to maintain run fits.
His weaknesses, meanwhile, are that he plays with “slow power” and delays using his hands on blockers.
