2026 NFL free agency: Ranking best signings, trades, contracts – ESPN

3) Cornerback Riq Woolen signs with the Eagles. The deal: One year, up to $15 million. The Eagles spent much of last season trying to find a solution at their second outside corner spot. They’ve found their answer for 2026. With the market seemingly cooler on Woolen than expected (at least, that’s what I’m assuming based on this contract), the Eagles were there to strike with a one-year deal. Woolen is fascinating because he is not widely considered to be among the game’s top cornerbacks, but his numbers are right there with the best. Over the past four seasons, among outside corners with at least 500 coverage snaps, do you know who allowed the fewest yards per coverage snap? Woolen, at 0.7, one spot ahead of new teammate Quinyon Mitchell and two spots ahead of 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II. And yet Woolen has been benched multiple times and shared work with Josh Jobe at times last season. Woolen has moments where it goes wrong — such as in Week 1, when he was beaten badly by Ricky Pearsall for a 45-yard gain on the 49ers’ final drive before allowing the game-winning touchdown, or when he committed an almost-cataclysmic taunting penalty in the NFC Championship Game ahead of what would have been a fourth-and-12. To that last point, Woolen’s penalty rate is high (0.8% over his career, which ranks in the 80th percentile) but not disqualifying. Ultimately, it’s hard to argue against Woolen’s results.

NFL Mock Draft 2026: Eagles 7-round simulation, Version 5.0 – BGN

Pick 1.23: Omar Cooper Junior, Wide Receiver, Indiana. Don’t overthink this. Even with the Hollywood Brown addition, the Eagles need a long term receiver to pair with DeVonta Smith. That player is not on the roster. Even in a world where AJ Brown plays one more year in Philly, the Eagles should not pass up on the opportunity to draft a player like Omar Cooper. Cooper would give the Eagles an inside/outside receiver with playmaking speed and a great toughness on the field. He would be a dynamic addition to what will be a very different looking offense in 2026. In my opinion, the Eagles should be loading up on weapons to give Jalen Hurts and Sean Mannion maximum firepower in this do or die season.

Nakobe Dean says farewell to Philly, talks up his replacement – NBCSP

“Jihaad can be great,” Dean said. “You’re talking about somebody who was probably on track to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. But that’s what you expected. And he’s close to home, so it’s his team too. He had a lot of expectations definitely being a first round pick and everything. And I feel like now that he’ll have that role to be hisself and to play the ball that he needs to play, the sky is the limit for him. You’re talking about a guy who’s got the size, the ability to do everything on the field from the linebacker position, from covering, to blitzing, to stopping the run. He’s a three-down linebacker. He can do it all. He’s going to be great for sure, and he’s got a crazy work ethic.”

Team USA defeats Wildcats FFC in Fanatics Flag Football Classic – NFL.com

Team USA crushed Brady’s Founders FFC 43-16 after dismantling Joe Burrow’s Wildcats FFC squad 39-16. Burrow, Jayden Daniels, Saquon Barkley and the Wildcats then eliminated Brady, Hurts and the Founders from the round-robin tournament with a 34-26 victory. The Founders kept it closer in the championship game but Team USA pulled away 24-14. The national team couldn’t be stopped on offense in three games, scoring on every possession except a kneel-down at the end of one victory.

Cowboys fans are fairly pleased with this offseason – Blogging The Boys

After all that, plus other moves that quietly helped the team, we asked you to grade the offseason so far.A majority (53%) gave it a ‘B’ while another large chunk of fans gave it a ‘C’ (33%). So 86% of fans gave the Cowboys a mid-level B-C grade. Not bad, but not exactly the ‘bust the budget’ performance Jerry Jones promised. If the Maxx Crosby deal had happened, we might have been looking at a different grade.

Cam Skattebo apologizes for remarks about CTE, asthma – Big Blue View

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo took to Instagram on Saturday to apologize for recent remarks calling CTE as an “excuse” and labeling asthma as “fake.”

NFC East 2026 free agency grades: New York Giants edition – PhillyVoice

To begin, the 2026 free agency class was one of the worst ever, in my opinion, and there were a bunch of teams who paid a lot of ordinary players extraordinary money. One of those teams was the Commanders, for example, who we’ll get to soon enough. However, this year I thought the Giants did a really nice job of picking some spots where they could improve their roster — notably at tight end, linebacker, and on special teams — and not have to wildly overpay to do so. They also did a good job of not overpaying some of their own players who left to go play for former head coach Brian Daboll in Tennessee. I have not agreed with much of what the Giants have done in free agency, the draft, or otherwise during the Joe Schoen era. But they had a good free agency period this offseason, given what was available. Maybe Schoen wasn’t in charge, and John Harbaugh was instead? That would perhaps help explain their rare moment of competency.

Eagles News: ESPN says Philadelphia made one of the very best free agent signingsJeff Kolsky

Bleeding Green Nation

Hey Howie, would you please add….

With a little over a month until the NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have the penciled in starters on their depth charts but all it takes is an injury and the next man up is going to be a liability at multiple position groups.

Howie will add plenty of projected talent with the April draft, maneuver throughout the rounds to get the best player of value available at key positional groups including OL, WR, TE, EDGE and S.

On the offensive side, the only position group yet to add players would be the offensive line. Mekhi Becton is a familiar and available name, without clarity as to that the new blocking scheme, how would he look without Jeff Stoutland?

On the defensive side, is pursuing Jonathan Greenard with the Vikings a route you would pursue? On one hand you hope he returns to form after a down season but also knowingly take on another salary of 20M+ with a renegotiated deal he would acquire.  Pick compensation wouldn’t be unreasonable, a conditional 2027 3rd and a 2026 5th would get it done.

What would be the one signing or realistic trade scenario you would like Howie to pull off prior to the draft that doesn’t involve AJ Brown?
