The Miami Dolphins agreed to terms with veteran punter/kickoff specialist Bradley Pinion on Thursday — giving them two punters on the roster after signing 26 year-old Seth Vernon last week.
Pinion — 31 years-old — first entered the league as a fifth round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in the 2015 NFL Draft. He stayed with the 49ers through 2018 before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 — a team for which he’d earn a Super Bowl ring. He would join the Atlanta Falcons in 2022, staying with the organization until the end of the 2025 season.
New Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan preached competition at every position earlier this offseason, and apparently, he’s staying true to his word — even when it comes to special teams.
If Vernon were to lose the punter position battle this offseason, maybe the 6’5” and 230 lb player could transition to wide receiver or tight end for the Dolphins. I’m only kidding… or am I?
We will continue to keep you updated on all things Miami Dolphins as the team continues to work towards the 2026 NFL Draft kicking off in just over one month’s time.
