The news that the Los Angeles Rams are monitoring the trade situation for A.J. Brown isn’t exactly news as much as it is best practice for any NFL team.
Brown is a difference maker, so when a player like Brown is potentially available, a team should do their due diligence. If The Rams trade for Brown, how interesting, and THAT will be news, but if the Rams “monitor” the situation, that’s status quo. That’s what the Rams do. They consider every option that can make their team better. Every NFL team should.
It’s Saturday, people gotta write what they gotta write (I do as well!), so no hate here, just not sure there is much to report on the Brown saga until there is something to report.
Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times, let’s enjoy our weekend and go from there!
New A.J. Brown Trade Rumors Reveal Talks Remain Alive as Rams ‘Monitor’ Eagles WR (bleacherreport)
“Even though the volume of trade chatter around A.J. Brown has quieted down after the first few days of free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles star is still on the radar for teams looking to add a high-level wide receiver.
Per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Los Angeles Rams are continuing to “monitor” Brown’s status as the Eagles weigh their options going into the 2026 season.“
“WOODLAND HILLS, Ca. There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Rams made the right move to trade for and then extend cornerback Trent McDuffie. An All-Pro with multiple Super Bowl rings before the age of 24, McDuffie is a baller, and after his opening presser, it’s clear why the team wanted to invest so much into him.
If the Rams just traded for him, that would’ve been one thing, but they also handed him a record-setting contract to keep him with the team for the next five seasons.“
Why blockbuster Trent McDuffie trade and $124M extension is ‘smart’ move for Rams (sportingnews.com)
“Adding McDuffie cost the Rams a ton. They sent pick No. 29, a fifth and sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and a 2027 third-rounder to acquire McDuffie.
Then, a few days later, they agreed to a mammoth $124 million four-year contract extension to keep him around in Los Angeles for a few more years.
All-in-all, the Rams spent a first, third, fifth, and sixth round pick to acquire McDuffie, and then handed him a $124 million extension worth $31 million per-year.“

“The secondary is MILES better than last year. Now let’s add the finishing touches. I think the Rams will still draft a CB in the first 3 rounds, and more and more I’m hoping to see Sonny Styles as our first pick. I don’t know if he’ll last until pick 13, but if he does, I can see the Rams being in the top 3 defenses both against the pass AND the run.” -JeffinBranson
