The Miami Dolphins have added a much-needed veteran presence on the offensive line, agreeing to a deal with free agent offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald was the first to report the news:::

Who is Jamaree Salyer?

Drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the 6’4, 325 lbs. Atlanta, Georgia native was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers 195th overall. During his four seasons in Los Angeles, Salyer started 40 games for the Chargers, playing at both left tackle (19 starts) and right guard (21 starts).

In college, Salyer won the college football national championship (2021) and was named a second-team All-American and an All-SEC selection in 2021. Much like his time in LA, Salyer played all over the Bulldogs’ offensive line, starting 23 games — 20 at left tackle, one at left guard, and two at right tackle.

According to Pro Football Focus (Take everything they say with a grain of salt), Salyer finished the 2025 regular season with a 68.2 pass blocking grade, a 61.5 run blocking grade, and a 62.2 overall grade. He allowed four sacks on 449 offensive snaps played.

He will compete immediately for a starting spot on Miami’s new-look offensive line. While guard seems the most obvious, his versatility could make things interesting, considering all we’ve heard since Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley have arrived is COMPETITION.

What are the contract details?

Although no official word has been announced, it is likely to follow the one-year deals we’ve seen with some of Miami’s other prominent free agent signings. After all, the Dolphins are in serious financial trouble this year, but if players can bet on themselves and forge a role in year one — a chance for that to snowball into a larger deal seems quite likely.

What are your thoughts on the Miami Dolphins signing offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer? Where do you see him fitting on Miami’s revamped offensive line? Do you expect him to start at guard? Let us know in the comments section below!
