The Miami Dolphins continued to stay busy on Wednesday — making a flurry of moves to help remake their roster under new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. The latest deal the organization has made is the signing of tight end Ben Sims to a one-year deal following the loss of Julian Hill to the New England Patriots.
Sims — soon-to-be 26 years old — played college football at Baylor from 2018 through 2022. He finished as the school’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions from a tight end — nabbing 12 during his time with the Bears. After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Sims signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent, but was waived during roster cuts that offseason.
In August of 2023, the Green Bay Packers claimed Sims — however the tight end had to play behind Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave while with the Packers. He totaled just 8 receptions for 63 yards and a single touchdown in three seasons in Green Bay before being cut in October of 2025.
Sims would rejoin Minnesota following his release — nabbing three receptions for 30 yards as a member of the Vikings in 2025.
