The New York Giants will feature a completely new kicking operation next season, only two-thirds of it by design. After signing punter Jordan Stout and placekicker Jason Edwards in NFL free agency, the Giants are reportedly losing long snapper Casey Kreiter.
Kreiter is signing with the Arizona Cardinals. Michael Ghobrial, Giants special teams coordinator the past two seasons, is now in that role for the Cardinals.
Kreiter, entering his age 36 season, is a 10-year NFL veteran. He spent his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos, and has been a Giant for six seasons.
Stout is replacing Jamie Gillan as the punter, and it appears Edwards will compete with Ben Sauls for the placekicking job.
Zaire Barnes back with New York
Outside linebacker Zaire Barnes, who was set to be a restricted free agent, is re-signing with the Giants on a one-year, $1.55 million contract.
Barnes was a sixth-round pick by the New York Jets in the 2023 NFL Draft. He played in 11 games for the Giants last season with 29 tackles. Barnes had a 13-tackle game Week 7 against the New England Patriots.
