The new league year starts on March 11th, but it’s already been a whirlwind start to 2026 for the New York Giants.
The “Legal Tampering Period” that serves as the pickup beat to the new league year was an interesting one for the Giants. True to reports that the new regime believes there’s talent in the building and is more inclined to “tinker” with the Giants’ roster than overhaul it, the Giants didn’t make many dramatic moves.
The biggest moves so far are bringing back right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, and the additions of tight end Isaiah Likely and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
Beyond that, the Giants have made smaller moves. On the offensive side, they agreed to terms with fullback Patrick Ricard and wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins. On the defensive side of the ball, the Giants agreed to terms with cornerback Greg Newsome II, safety Ar’Darius Washington, and linebacker Micah McFadden.
The biggest changes came on the the special teams, with the Giants agreeing to terms with All-Pro specialists punter Jordan Stout and placekicker Jason Sanders. Considering how volatile and unreliable the Giants’ kicking game was last year, those might be almost as important as bringing back Eluemunor.
The Giants aren’t done yet and there will be more signings as free agency actually gets going. But for now we just want to ask the fans: Do you like what the Giants did to open free agency?
