You cannot win the Super Bowl in March, but you can construct a fun team on paper, and so far, the Los Angeles Rams are doing that by adding Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to their roster all while still having Cam Kurl, Quentin Lake, Jared Verse, Nate Landman and more.
This defense on paper is very exciting, and Chris Shula may be glad he is still with the Rams after maybe almost getting a head coaching job elsewhere this past offseason.
Of course, it’s only on paper, but why not get excited? It’s this time of year where every team should be excited for their future either short term or long term, plus the draft is on the way.
The NFC Championship lost stung for L.A., no doubt. It may still sting, but that doesn’t mean that the Rams can’t put together a great offseason.
On paper, so far, they are.
Please comment away, it makes us look good, but more importantly, we enjoy hearing from you (it’s true, we do). Thank you so much for checking out Turf Show Times! Bring on Tuesday.
Oh, and bring on more NFL free agency. Legal tampering is so cool.
Instant analysis of Rams signing Jaylen Watson: What LA is getting in its new CB (theramswire)
“Angeles Rams to make their third big move in the secondary this offseason. After already acquiring Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs and re-signing Kam Curl, the Rams went out and agreed to a three-year deal with McDuffie’s teammate, Jaylen Watson.
The Rams are signing Watson to a three-year deal worth $51 million, pairing him with McDuffie at cornerback, just as they were in Kansas City.
Les Snead said a few weeks back that the Rams would “attack” the cornerback position this offseason and he wasn’t kidding. They’re essentially building their own version of the Chiefs secondary in L.A., taking both of Kansas City’s starting corners from last season and bringing them aboard.“
Rams receive 2 compensatory picks in 2026 draft for free-agent losses (theramswire)
“They will fall at No. 251 and 252 overall in Round 7, right near the end of the draft.
Compensatory picks are given to teams for their losses in free agency, and though the Rams didn’t lose any stars last offseason, they did have several players leave. Bobby Brown, Michael Hoecht, Demarcus Robinson and Christian Rozeboom were the most notable departures.“
