The Los Angeles Rams are signing former Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson to a three-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It’s a three-year, $51 million contract with $34 million guaranteed for Watson.
The free agent signing comes less than a week after the Rams traded a first round pick and more to the Chiefs for Trent McDuffie and then signed him to a four-year, $124 million contract. Now L.A. general manager Les Snead continues his rebuild of the secondary by going back to the Kansas City well and signing Watson to a three-year deal on Monday.
This was a move that our own Blaine Grisak foretold in a post for Turf Show Times on Monday morning.
The 27-year-old Watson was a seventh round pick in 2022 and started 15 games with the Chiefs in 2025. He had two interceptions, two sacks, 64 tackles, and allowed a passer rating of 79.0 on throws in his direction. The Rams see this as a great opportunity to change their secondary while also keeping continuity between teammates.
